Joni jeans - what's with the crazy sizes?!

I am a devoted Joni jeans lover - however I own 6 pairs all a size 28 waist yet there is huge differences in the cuts.

1 is very large, almost baggy in the legs even, 2 are extremely skinny which are good when I'm feeling slim, the others are a comfy size which fit just right.
When you put them next to each other you can see massive differences.

Why is this? Is it just me that's noticed this?

I'd like to say that it's the results of sweatshop production and sloppy cutting, but I've noticed it across loads of brands. Always try before you buy!

Mass cutting of fabrics and also very little consistency of fabric so some have more stretch and others are more rigid.

I have Jonis, Jamies and Leighs and have the same problem with all of them! Have some 28s that are bigger than 30s! Very annoying as I'm not in the U.K. so have to order online in a few sizes!
