What to wear over this dress!

So I was thinking of wearing this dress to a wedding next week. I'm just a bit stuck about what type (and colour) of jacket to wear over it. I am planning to wear nude closed toe shoes, unless anyone has any better ideas?

What to wear over this dress!

That's really nice. I'd do a navy jacket, nipped in at the waist and quite cropped, just below the waist length.

Thank you Smile I will see if I can find a suitable navy blazer.

I am also worrying also about whether the whole floral thing has been done to death and is too common?! I am not really one to jump on trends, I go more for things that suit me. However I can never find dresses that suit me - petite size 8 but with a bum and boobs - and this one fits just right and is v flattering (I have the same hair and colouring as the model in the pic). I just don't want to turn up and find lots of people wearing very similar dresses Confused

Lovely dress! Where's it from?

DataColour · 17/03/2017 10:00

Oh love that dress! Where's it from? I'm petite size 8 too. How short is it?

Redtartanshoes · 17/03/2017 10:05

Love it too. Agree navy short jacket

Gah81 · 17/03/2017 10:18

I think the cropped, fitted navy jacket is a great idea. If you can't find one that matches/is suitable, I also think something similar in cream would work (with the nude accessories and there's cream in your dress too).

Gorgeous dress!

Thank you so much for all your helpful replies!

The dress is from Oasis.

How about this jacket perhaps? Totally blowing my budget but I could definitely get lots of use out of it for other occasions, work events etc

I also like the dress modelled with it but fear at 5'3" I'd look ridiculous in it and it's not a style that would look right if taken up - might be a bit revealing Grin

What does anyone think of this, it's pale shell pink in reality

Foncy87 · 17/03/2017 21:23

I think a nice navy pashmina/wrap would look lovely 😊!

multivac · 17/03/2017 21:27

The Zara coat is just daft. Looks like a doll's dressing gown. Normally the word 'peplum' would make me run a mile; but I think the Coast jacket would work beautifully with your dress, OP.

pollypomegranate · 17/03/2017 22:00

Oh gosh, now I have too much choice! Confused

Next question!Grin

I am having gelish nails done next week - what colour polish do you reckon with this dress?!

walruswhiskers · 18/03/2017 08:25

Id wear a grey biker jacket and rock it up. Much warmer too - if it's warm you can dispense with the jacket, if cold you'll be cosy.

emilybrontescorset · 18/03/2017 08:26

If go for a very pale/ nude pink on my nails.

BigGreenOlives · 18/03/2017 08:27

I think the Zara coat would look much more stylish than a navy jacket - a coat coming to the same length as the dress will look good.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 18/03/2017 08:30

Is wear a short denim jacket, tan leather strappy sandals and French polished nails.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 18/03/2017 10:16

I think a navy blazer will look so dull! I can't see the Zara coat as on mobile, but how about a leather jacket? When you say nude shoes, do you mean those awful platform things Kate Middleton wears? If so I'd go with blue or tan shoes instead, I think the nude shoes would look very dated (though I never liked them anyway so am biased).

pollypomegranate · 18/03/2017 10:36

No definitely not platform ones! They are a bit like the ones in the picture of the dress but with pointed closed toes, and a grey/nude colour.
