Good DIY temporary hair dye?

Can anyone recommend a good quality, not-too-expensive, do-it-at-home, temporary hair dye which does unnatural colours?

I want to dye it a dark reddish-purple but only for a couple of months (maybe longer if I like it).

Also, my hair is light brown/dark blonde and I would rather not bleach it or do anything permanent. I don't mind using a temporary blonde dye as long as it didn't last longer than the purple.

Do bleach London do a dark purple? My 12yo DD has similar colouring to you and has coloured hair by that brand every school holiday. Comes out easily enough. Boots stock it

If your hair is light enough not to need bleaching, then have a look at Directions, Crazy Colour, etc.
