Hair straighteners for fine hair

I've had my straighteners (Tesco's own!) for 12 years now, but worrying that one day they won't turn on, or that they're becoming a fire hazard.

Can anyone recommend straighteners for fine, relatively straight hair? When I've used GHDs at friends' houses before going out, I've felt they made my hair too flat - so won't be rushing out to buy those.

Any ideas?

Marking place...Fine hair and Tescos own here too!! (The value ones for £6!)

I had the same worry - Bought some Vidal Sassoon ones as they had a setting for different hair types but they're not a patch on the Tesco ones!!

I've kept them as spares for when the inevitable happens

Haha! I thought I was the only person in the world still using them. Maybe we could contact Tesco to see if they have any in an old warehouse?
I've just looked on Tesco and there are too many brands/products to chose from, and I'm not convinced that the more expensive ones will be the best.

Hopefully a hair expert will be along shortly!
