Creating waves in hair

I am very much guilty of having my hair tied back in a ponytail every day for work and often outside of work. I'm hoping to have it a bit shorter at just above shoulder length in a longer bob. What can I use to give it a bit of a wave each day? I use salt spray when I go out but don't really want to use that every day? Any ideas welcome. Thanks

My hair is that length and I've just bought a jumbo waver - mine is Toni and Guy. Gives me beach waves that stay put for the first time ever. It's like a massive crimper basically.

I've tried salt spray, used to curl it with straightners, curl creams etc etc but it always dropped out. I guess you could plait overnight with some product but I could never be added with that to try it.

I'd like to get something like this too - is this the one you have?
