Fancy dress ... USA road trip theme

I live in the USA and friends of ours are leaving on an epic road trip soon. They're having a leaving party, inviting guests to dress up and the theme is American road trip. Apart from a Stars and Stripes onesie I'm stumped for ideas.... any inspiration out there?

I'm currently on a Spring Break road trip in the USA so I'd suggest a child chanting "I need the loo" just after the last Gas Stayion for 50 miles.

What about looking a road trip movies? Thelma & Louise, Easy Rider or National Lampoons?

Thanks, I was thinking about Thelma and Louise but going with dh and I'm not sure he'd be happy being either of them... hope your spring break improves....

A map? A state trooper? A carhop?

Are they visiting any 'landmarks' that you could 'dress up' as? The presidents on Mt Rushmore, a Hollywood starlet, Mickey Mouse, that kind of thing?

Spring Break is going well it was just a looonng way in the car today! 😆
