Emollient as eye cream?

Can I use emollient cream as an eye cream? I have very sensitive skin, I have very itchy eyes and eye creams tend to irritate. Emollient (white paraffin) moisturises and soothe but I'm worried it'll damage my under eye as it isn't designed to be used there. I'm late thirties and my eyes are showing my age , they need moisture!

Can't think it would do damage. The only thing i can think it might do is cause a little (reversible) puffiness. Definitely worth a go.
