Nursing dress not maternity?

Is there such a thing? I've got a big wedding towards the end of the year and I'll have dd1 and dd2 in tow, dd2 being max three months old. I'm planning to bf and want a nice bf friendly dress, preferably with nursing panels as she'll be at that awkward newborny stage still (fussing, on and off etc) but all the nursing dresses are maternity. Can anybody point me to some non-sack like dresses please?!

I got a plain jersey wrap nursing dress from seraphine. Maybe too plain? I still wear mine a few years on as it's a stretchy wrap. Get a few compliments too.

Turns out it is a maternity dress! Who knew!

I was looking at the Seraphone dresses and thought they looked lovely. Where the pictures were all on pregnant models it's was tricky to see the fit of them.

I had this one a few years ago - I loved it and it was so easy to bf in. Wore it to a wedding. Not sure where you can get it now (pic is of a very skinny lady wearing it, I was not at all that slim when I wore it but it was a lovely heavy fabric which hung well and was really flattering on my not flat tummy!

Jojo Maman Bebe do nursing stuff that's for post pregnancy.

munchkinmaster · 12/03/2017 19:26

That one fits as you just pull it tight.

Hardyloveit · 12/03/2017 19:54

Asos do nursing dresses ..... and a few others ..... can't think of the top of my head sorry! I put in nursing dress and a few came up when I looked a few months ago

glitterglitters · 12/03/2017 20:06

@Hardyloveit I was on ASOS but again they were all maternity/nursing dresses again, so they are again all on pregnant models so difficult to judge how it would be 3 months pp 🙈

Mothers en Vogue one mentioned above is available here. It is lovely and super flattering - I had it in two colours! And doesn't look "nursing"-like at all.

glitterglitters · 12/03/2017 20:10

@Lindtnotlint oooh that's pretty! Love the colour as well. That could definitely work 👌🏼

And also thank you @tigerrun for the initial spot. I think the star gazer blue would suit my complexion and cheaper than I was prepared to pay. Now just to work out the sizing Confused

Oh really? When I went on their in November I got a few nursing ones but can't remember if they showed pregnant women or not?

glitterglitters · 12/03/2017 20:13

@Excusemyfrench that's so pretty but I think my currently H cup (god knows what they'll end up being) boobs will need a bra that doesn't lend itself to those pretty straps 😁

@Hardyloveit very pretty but often manufacturers seem to assume you'll ditch bf within a few weeks it would seem.

Are they nursing dresses ShockShockShock how will u feed? It doesn't look like nursing dresses! Maybe there is a niche if your a good dressmaker lol GrinWink

munchkinmaster · 13/03/2017 08:29

I don't think they think you'll stop feeding. They think you'll keep the belly!

What about just a normal wrap dress with a wee vest underneath.

I hate all that nursing through slits stuff.

glitterglitters · 13/03/2017 08:52

Lol @munchkinmaster I actually slimmed down quite a lot first time. I guess they have to do one size fits all. Yeah I think a wrap dress might be an option. I tried a Lindybop dress etc last time and just looked like a porn star because my boobs were so big 😣

@Hardyloveit I think the tops pop up with little slits so quite discreet but it does give this weird shape to everything.

Hardyloveit · 13/03/2017 09:28

Ah yes! The only thing I found was I need to buy a few from asos ...... in the petite range as I'm only 5'1.5" lol but even then one dress came down to my ankles Shock lol. At least it's a free return!
Hope you find a dress though!
