I'm trying to take a bit more care of my appearance on a rather limited budget (I've got two small children and only doing bits and bobs of work at the moment). I've just bought the Superdrug Simply serum, which was a total bargain and gets really good reviews and it's stuff similar to that (cheap but great products) that I'm after.

Hello, this thread is a little old and the links are out of date. Take a look at this handy page for a round-up of Mumsnetters' favourite beauty dupes.

I swear by a decent liquid lipstick at the moment. It doesn't transfer onto kids, makes you look totally put together with minimal effort. Good brows as well. Invest in a good wax and a tint (even if you have dark brows they'll make them look "together" and neat).

My favourite liquid lipsticks are MAC but a lot of the high street ones are good too

Rather fond of Rimmel 9 in one BB Creme. Both the blue top and orange (illuminating one.

Thanks for the tip re Superdrug simply serum, bought it today. They have a lot of good offers on at the moment.
I make my own body scrub with salt, sugar and grape seed oil (works better for me than olive oil, lighter and easier absorbed), and sometimes I add a bit of food dye and a few drops of essential oil.
