Pupsie, Turmeric in skincare is an Indian thing (or at least of that region), usually a mask mixed with chickpea flour for 'brightening' but you need a turmeric that doesn't stain and I believe the effect is quite temporary. It is anti-inflammatory, so interesting in that sense, but I don't think it really performs in the same league as other actives (as far as I'm aware). Most of those affordable 'natural' brands tend to be alcohol based as it's cheap and effective to formulate and really the only way they can compete considering the inflated price of raw materials. Generally not so great for a lot of skin types though, very dry and dry do well with natural brands (as those formulations don't need the alcohol in it, like Hauschka's Rose cream), normal can be OK with it but combo-oily struggle and if you have dehydration issues it becomes even more complex.
Where did you buy the P50 from again (as people keep asking)?
goatkid, thanks for checking in again. Always love hearing how people (and their DP/DHs) are getting on. The feedback is always really helpful in further advising those with similar issues.
I would let the facetheory people know of their mistake, it would probably cost them more to retrieve it again than to let you keep it but more importantly, they're a small startup where losses like this on a larger scale could be detrimental. If there's an issue with logistics it's only fair they're aware of the issues.
Buttercup and wilting, P50 should be considered like an active so in that sense, yes, you use it on its own but I restrict that to a single routine and there's very few who really use P50 AM and PM on the daily. AHA toners definitely enhance the efficacy of other actives (hence the existence of lower strength acid toners) by exfoliating the upper lining but in the case of P50 it's too strong to use in such a manner. If I remember I'll write a mini post on how to use and build up P50 sometime this week.
And... ahem Buttercup, no pics of the Deciem Mecca
!
Welcome back Vintage, good to hear the Ordinary serums are agreeing (sort of) with you!
banivani, I was supposed to move to Stockholm years ago and did a lot of language prep and reading the 'classics' (Fogelström, Moberg, and Larsson
) in anticipation (for everyday life) but it fell through at the last minute. It's not that different from Dutch tbh, Danish sounds like Frisian to me (technically a different language to Dutch but similar and somewhat understandable) which they speak up north here and much of the grammar structure in Scandi languages is similar. Anyhow, still much enamoured by the Swedes.
Random Scandi question, do you happen to have any knowledge/experience with the Swedish Stockings tights, spotted some last week (the Tencel ones, so not really pantyhose but the thicker sort). Am usually ridiculously loyal to Wolford, and more recently Fogal, so wondered if these were any good and am easily swayed by pro-environment arguments.
Not a fan of dill but it is rather ridiculous how things you like to eat make skincare appealing. Evil marketing geniuses
I think there are a few threads on the AB Reddit regarding snailgate but in comparison to MN they're all dreadfully polite and use the word 'shade' a tad too much and instantly remind me I'm now officially old or at the very least not American. Anyhow, after the medieval battle snails I'm not expecting a reply from CH anytime soon. Incidentally did see her latest video I blame YouTube autoplay where she made some weird announcement about no longer being sponsor free despite making a big thing of it last year due to 'changes' and that she'd be charging companies if they wanted her to test things in isolation
. (Park personal attacks elsewhere, please, MNHQ can get thread zapping happy when it comes to CH).
californiaburrito, are you basically asking after sunscreen? You didn't fill out the form completely, what skin type are you (you only listed conditions not type)?
mint/jo, I like the Japanese (animal hair) brushes but they're really highly priced and a bit of an effort to source. Have heard good things about Japonesque though, which should be easier to find in the UK, think their short handled (kabuki-like) bronzer brushes are well regarded. Otherwise, the Zoeva 101 is pretty good too.
