I'm just curious really..

Haven't got a routine really at the moment, as I chop and change what products I use all the time! I'm interested to know how people cleanse/remove makeup in the evening and anything they've found to work really well (especially people who have sensitive/rosacea/eczema!). Do you use toners or oils?! There's so much out there!

Thanks! Smile

Look in mirror. Scream. Take off make up with L'Oreal make up removing oil. Scream because i look like a member of Kiss. Wash face with Cetaphil wash. Avoid looking in mirror again. Shove a mixture of a face oil and Cetaphil moisturiser on. Go to bed, trying not to think about how old I'm getting.

DandelionAndBedrock · 07/03/2017 21:13

I normally use the superdrug vitamin e range - make up cleanser on cotton pad, then hot cloth cleanser to follow (fresh flannel every day), followed by their moisturiser.

At the moment, though, my skin is pretty stressed and grotty so I'm using Angels on bare skin from Lush. It clears my skin up pretty quickly and is fairly gentle.

DandelionAndBedrock · 07/03/2017 21:14

Oh, and I tried a decleor aromessence oil but it made no noticeable difference to my skin at all. If I need a moisture boost I use the garnier moisture bomb tissue masks.

PolkadotPony · 07/03/2017 21:18

Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser/Muslin cloth

Liz Earle rose water toner

Glycolic acid overnight serum

Serum - face brightening, age reducing

Liz Earle moisturiser

In that order.

robinia · 07/03/2017 21:21

Bath. Wipe off any eye make up remaining with make up remover pad. Teeth. Bed Smile

Littlelegs19 · 07/03/2017 21:21

Since going on maternity leave i can't be bothered to put any make up on so will just wash my face when I shower but if I do have make up on I remove it with johnsons sensitive sink make up wipes then wash face with soap and glory but C face wash

LadyOfTheCanyon · 07/03/2017 21:23

I have dry dehydrated skin.
I use Garnier Micellar water to get rid of the heavy duty stuff then use an oil or balm or cream cleanser for skin cleansing.
Pixi Glow Tonic or Paulas choice 2% toner
Serums depending on what's wrong with my skin
Moisturiser - currently Vichy Aqualia riche
Oils - currently Aesop fabulous facial oil but I rotate with Sunday Riley Artemis, ESPA optimal proserum and Sisley Black rose oil.

Periodically I use Alpha H or a retinal but in a very haphazard way.

My skin is pretty amazing. I don't get spots ( only upside of dry skin) and I usually look glowy and well rested. Could be genetics, could be skincare. Who knows?

ofudginghell · 07/03/2017 21:24

Remove make up with remover wipes
Wash face in shower with vitamin e face wash
Exfoliate with vitamin e exfoliated twice a week.
A soy based face serum and a night balm applied very quickly and lots of Smile
I always moisturise every morning aswell

StrawberryShortcake32 · 07/03/2017 21:26

Wash makeup off (nivea face wash or apricot scrub depending on skin)
Sometimes serum if I can be arsed and moisturise. I have different ones and switch them up. Favourite is lush skin drink (for this time of year).

specialsubject · 07/03/2017 21:28

No make up, so wash face with water, clean teeth. Bedtime nivea (white tube/pound a go) if nose itchy. Nice stuff , almost no smell.

MinnieF1 · 07/03/2017 21:38

I remove make up with the garnier micellar water and cotton pads or with the Superdrug vit e dual cleansing oil. Then I use the Superdrug radiance hot cloth cleanser to remove any remaining make up. Then I use the Obagi clenziderm cleanser and rinse off. Followed by obagi moisturiser. I have just bought La Roche Posay effaclar duo as I'm battling with breakouts ATM.

kel1493 · 07/03/2017 21:40

None at all. I never wear makeup.
Literally use the loo, wash hands and that's it for me.

kel1493 · 07/03/2017 21:40

Oh god forgot teeth before using the loo.

Judydreamsofhorses · 07/03/2017 21:47

Micellar water to remove makeup
Cleanse face with either Ren hot cloth or Clinique TTDO oil
Acid tone - Clarins
Superdrug Pure serum
Kiehls facial oil
Botanics night cream

Some days I use The Ordinary retinol stuff but not convinced it's doing much. If I do I skip the acid toner.

I do this pretty much as soon as I get in from work, I definitely couldn't be arsed just before bed. I'm just hand cream and lip balm then.

skippy67 · 07/03/2017 22:14

Wash face with whatever cleanser was on offer when I bought it. Moisturise with either Garnier or Nivea night cream. Castor oil on eyelashes. Brush teeth.

spankhurst · 07/03/2017 22:18

Unperfumed cleanser taken off with warm flannel. Teeth. Olay moisturiser. Castor oil on eyelashes.

TheShapeofYou · 07/03/2017 22:19

When I know I'm in for the rest of the evening, I use a Simple make-up remover wipe and B. Micellar water on a cotton pad after.

When I go to bed I hot cloth cleanse (Superdrug Naturally Radiant or Vitamin E). Then use a serum from the same range, eye serum (Estee Lauder or Superdrug) then Aldi Lacura Caviar night cream (Don't like it as it's really heavy, but just using it up).

When I get into bed I always lather my hands in Aveeno hand cream or Nuxe oil.

Gah81 · 07/03/2017 22:21

I used to have terrible acne. Left me with scars and I still get the odd tiny spot but as a result, I am religious about cleaning my skin. Have been known to do it even after SEVERAL glasses of wine.

Eve Lom cleanser + Nivea eye makeup remover

Twice a week: Paula's Choice 2% BHA

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

Lush eye cream

Mario Badescu drying lotion on any spots.

Gah81 · 07/03/2017 22:22

Oops forgot Estee Lauder night cream/moisturdier (forget which one!)

Llamallann · 07/03/2017 22:22

I have eczema and v sensitive skin. Here goes...

Remove eye make up with Avene eye make up remover.

Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser.
Liz Earle toner
Espa nourishing oil
Avene eye cream
Avene nourishing balm (I use this as a night cream, in the morning I use the Liz Earle moisturiser)
Blistex on lips for night time moisture.

Weekly I also use Liz Earle or Elemis exfoliator.

Alice212 · 07/03/2017 22:25

Fudging, I had no idea the smiley now meant sex!!

I'm 41, don't really wear make up but use a wash off cleanser due to the joys of pollution and commuting. Then loreal triple active night cream, or body shop aloe vera, usually the former as it's cheaper. I have very sensitive skin. Either that or it's pissed off with the pollution, heating etc, is better in summer.

Alice212 · 07/03/2017 22:27

Oh cleanser is whatever is on offer, Olay or Botanics usually.

Sweets101 · 07/03/2017 22:28

Micellar water
Glycolic pads
Hot cloth cleanser
Face oil
Glycolic serum
Eye gel
Moisturiser

Then bio oil and firming cream stuff on body

Basically i'm trying the "throw everything at it and hope for the best" method

hollieberrie · 07/03/2017 22:33

I have oily but spot free skin. Late 30's.

  • wipe face with a baby wipe
  • hot cloth cleanse with coconut oil
  • acid tone with Paula's choice 2% or a Clearsil pad
  • serum - nothing fancy, currently a Superfacialist one
  • moisturise - currently a Nuxe night anti ageing one that i got in the advent calendar, pretty happy with it

Would like to add in some Retinol or something but not sure how to.

busyboysmum · 07/03/2017 22:34

I clean my teeth......

Then I get on mumsnet on my phone.

I'm 47 and my skin is fine. I think. I do go through phases of using things but tbh I can never see any difference so I usually give up.
