Inspiration for tube/ruched/jersey skirts

In particular black ones, but other colour suggestions accepted.

Basically I have a Hush black crossover skirt that isn't working with the rest of my wardrobe and I'm looking for ideas for tops, tights, shoes etc that I could pair with it. Every time I do a bit of Pinterest type research, all the pictures I have are with people with bare legs.

I have grey suede ankle boots, petrol blue converse and burgundy Chelsea books (and a burgundy leather biker jacket) that I fell shoud work with this, but I just can't quite nail it.

I have the Hush ruched skirt in black and wine. I'm 5ft 6 and a size 10/12, and for me, they need something shortish and still semi-fitted on top. I wear them with jumpers or sweatshirts, or stripy tops, quite casually, with thick tights, and either trainers or flat Chelsea boots. I've tried things like denim shirts, but that doesn't work on me.

I'm wearing the black one today, actually, with a black and white stripy Whistles jumper with a slight funnel neck, black opaques, black Stan Smiths, and a black leather biker jacket. I would never wear them without heavy opaque tights as they just would be far too short on me.

Do you think I need black footwear?

I think all black on the bottom looks cohesive and streamlined, but your burgundy shoes should be okay. I might try my silver Nikes with it now spring is springing, but would only do that with black top/skirt/tights. I find coloured footwear tricky sometimes - with the exception of red sandals mine tends to be black, tan or metallic (which I class as neutral!).
