Dark patches (hyperpigmentation?) on neck

I've got dark blotchy patches all down both sides of my neck. I'm in my 40s and live in Aus, so am guessing it's sun damage.

Should I go straight for a professional fix, and if so, what? Microdermabrasion?

Anybody?

I have a patch on my forehead and Sunday Rileys Good Genes has faded it right back to something that even the lightest foundation can cover.
It's spendy but not as drastic as dermabrasion!
