Gel nails peeled off straight away

I'm going in to 8 weeks pregnant. Got my gel nails done today which isn't normal for me at all (do it once every three months) with someone new as my regular girl was booked up. One nail has already peeled off. Is this normal when pregnant? I noticed she only cured them for 5 secs at a time. This felt massively short to me - everyone else does at least 30 secs. Is it my hormones?!

It could well be yes, there's also problems with menopausal women having service breakdown.

A lot of nail techs are perfectionists so do ring up and say your polish is coming off.

Do not pick, picking damages the nail plate.

5 seconds is way too short- it's 30! go back

It depends on the lamp. I do gel polish & have a flash cure of 10 seconds which is high power & a low cure of 30 seconds.
5 seconds doesn't sound right though especially if peeling already.

Pregnancy shouldn't really make a difference. I'm a beauty therapist & have never heard that. It's only perming hair that makes a difference as the perm may not take properly.

5 seconds is way too short - mine usually cure for 45 seconds.

Thought so. It really annoyed me, i had my fingers in there for a flash before she pulled them out. Now I have one nail that looks shite. Wasn't happy with it overall.
