Allergic reaction to la Roche Posay?

Just to start I don't have particularly sensitive skin but I saw this brand in boots and thought I would give the eye cream a try so got the Toleriane ultracontour yeux cream in the pump bottle, I've been using it for a couple of days and when I put it on last night my skin felt like it was burning, woke up this morning with two lovely big red sore dry patches under my eyes Hmm.
This cream is meant to be for extra sensitive skin but this is the worst reaction I've ever had to a product and like I said my skin isn't even that sensitive, very odd. Anyone else had this issue with this brand or is it just me?

Me. I had a reaction with hydraphase and one of the cleansers. I got lot of small pimples. Stopped it now gone back to cetaphil or aveeno

I do have sensitive skin and so have tried a few of their things and reacted badly to them all.

Shame, heard so many good things about the brand, won't be using anymore of their stuff though.

Yes I always heard good things about them. I actually tried them two weeks after my initial trial just to rule out possibility that it could be something else but I found tiny breakouts again. I had to use it on legs to finish it off. Cleaner was the worst it was blue color bottle and did not clean anything.

Is that the eye cream that is supposed to help people who have been using screens?
I use the hydrating eye cream at times but it's like a serum, no ill effects.

Yes used Nutritic for years and they changed the formula and it burnt my skin and my eyes went haywire. I switched to Eucerin crème de jour with urea for my dry, reactive skin and it is wonderful.

Just happened! it's the toleraine. i used the old formula and loved it. put this on yesterday within half hour; my face was tingling, got hot, almost passed out in store with mask on. rushed outside to breathe and then washed my face 3 times.

I have just had this with the newly repackaged no 7. It's bloody infuriating. All I can have anywhere near my eyes is Elizabeth Arden fragrance free 8 hour cream.

It happened a few years ago with Clinique and took steroids to shift. I don't trust hypoallergenic stuff at all.

That particular eye cream is the only one I can use. Everything else stings my eyes and makes them puffy. I'll be gutted if they've changed the formula.

I just had a terrible reaction to their eye redness cover up cream. The entire area under my eye where I used it swelled up and turned red and burned. Then the eye swelled up as well, and nothing I put on would relieve it. I used antihistamines and calendula cream and after a few days it calmed down. I don't know if it's because my face is very excema prone, but I only bought the cream because they seemed to specialise in sensitive skin.. I bought it from superdrug so I know it was the genuine product.

I know this is an old thread but I’ve had a terrible reaction to the La Roche Effaclar H cleanser, called an ambulance & went to A&E :( eyes are all swollen and I’m on steroids & antihistamine. It says in tiny writing on the bottle not to get near the eye area but is sold as a product for sensitive skin, the mind boggles 😡.

I bought the LRP Toleriane Dermallergo yeux daily repair cream from Boots to try and relieve my dry itchy eyelids. I woke up this morning and my eyelids were so red and swollen I could hardly see and there are sore red patches under my eyes. The swelling has started to go down after taking antihistamines but this is so disappointing. I don’t know what to try next.

I don't know exactly which of their products gave me allergic conjunctivitis because I bought a lot of them.
But I think Effaclar H moisturizer.
When my eyes became swollen and red, I put corticosteroids and allergy drops in my eyes. It finally passes. And as soon as I stopped applying the creams, it decreased.
It's sad because I was delighted with their products.

I've recently had similar with the reformulated Avene range. Redness and small spots everywhere. Took about 3 weeks to get rid of. So annoyed when something is supposed to be for v sensitive skin.

I don't get on with most LRP stuff but I really do like the 'nutritic' cream, even if he does smell very lemony...

La Roche Posay TOLERIANE DERMALLERGO CREAM gave me a horrible reaction. My face went beet red flushed and hot and immediately washed my face off a few times. By the evening it had calmed down. But I washed shocked because I was sold it specifically because I was having a problem with eczema on my face. Will never use any of their products again. I have never had a reaction to a face cream like that in my life, I am 56.

It is not just you, it happened to me too but with the Toleriane cream. I wonder what the ingredient is that causes this? My reaction was almost immediate, super flushed, red hot face, thank god I didn't put close to my eyes. I washed it off immediately so the reaction was gone a few hours later. I am not prone to reactions like this so was really surprised.

Blimey. I've just bought some (more ) Toleriane and some Cicaplast as my poor face is reacting to L'Oreal Laser wotsit.

I can understand the Effaclar range causing problems for some people as it's salicylic acid based for oily skin with breakouts and is strong stuff, but it's weird how we all react to different things.

I think it might be the niacinamide that people are reacting to in Toleriane. It's a brilliant ingredient that does lots of good things to skin, but it can be an irritant for some people.
