How long does eau de toilette last for?

First world problem I know but DH has just given me some eau de toilette that I really don't want (and told him I didn't want but apparently he didn't hear me!) I can't get a refund as he got it in Paris. Can I gift it on to SIL in June?? Does it go off? Thanks.

Oh good grief- it will last YEARS! I've still got EDT that I bought 3 years ago, and it's fine. As long as it's kept in a dark place and in the box, it should be fine.
