Flattering summer dress size 16? And other holiday clothes

Lucysdiamonds · 27/02/2017 06:38

I'm going on holiday in April, hoping for warm weather. We're only taking hand luggage .. away for 5 days. Any suggestions for a flattering dress that will roll up small?

I'll travel in jeans and Tshirt and jacket, will take tops, a dress, swimsuit, skirt and flip flops. Anything else anyone can suggest would be appreciated. .

I'm size 14/16, apple shape, 34gg bra size . I'll need a swimsuit too ...

It's a bit tricky as the summer stuff isn't in the shops yet. I got great jersey midis in oasis and warehouse last year.

Rockaby · 27/02/2017 08:56

Oh sorry, just noticed that lovely JL dress only has 8 and 12 in stock.

You could also try eBay. I've had some lovely cotton dresses from there.

Semaphorically · 27/02/2017 08:58

Something like this perhaps? It's linen/cotton so would be nice and cool in the heat.

Lucysdiamonds · 27/02/2017 09:13

Thanks. The wrap dress is a bit Shock expensive for me.

Not sure about the JL dress ... I've dark hair and eyes and don't really suit pale colours.

Jersey midi dresses sound good. I'll have a look on ebay.

What about this kind of thing? What sort of price are you looking for?

Semaphorically · 27/02/2017 09:21

Something like this?

Lucysdiamonds · 27/02/2017 09:22

Not keen on that sorry .. I think I'd look like a sack of potatoes.

I'm on a low budget unfortunately due to booking holiday.

Can you post some pics of things you like and tell us your actual budget (your low budget isn't the same as someone else's)? Otherwise it's very hard to help you find something.

Lucysdiamonds · 27/02/2017 09:25

I guess my budget is about £20.

I'll look for some I like.

Did you see the Joules one I linked to op?

justaweeone · 27/02/2017 09:35

I'm planning on ordering some of these

Lucysdiamonds · 27/02/2017 09:38

Avebury that's nice but not in my size in a colour I like.

I have a New Look jersey dress, sleeveless with square scoop neck, quite fitted, knee length that I really like but it's a little tight.

Pinkkahori · 27/02/2017 09:39

The Next dress looks lovely justaweeone. Very similar to one I have from H&M. I'm an 18 and its a very flattering style on.

Lucysdiamonds · 27/02/2017 09:40

Rockaby the Joules one was ok, maybe a bit shapeless .. I like to show some curves but too clingy shows the spare tyre! I know, I'm asking a lot Blush

Justawe I quite like that.

Not at all lucy! Just making sure you'd seen it as I thought was such a bargain.

Lucysdiamonds · 27/02/2017 09:53

The New Look dress I have is a bit like at this on eBay [[http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152449945039 this]] or at this on eBay [[http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172543135783 this]] or at this on eBay [[http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162403078201 this]]

The neckline suits me .. quite low and a square sort of scoop. Just can't find a colour I like .. prefer navy or teal or grey .. patterned maybe but not flowers ...

Not sure the fitted waist will suit an apple bu £25 warehous

m&s potentially more flattering.

slug · 27/02/2017 11:55

I found this swimsuit to be a bit of a revelation. I'm a swimmer so I'm not hugely fussed about how I look in a swimsuit, even though I'm a 16-18 apple, but DD convinced me to give this a try.
