This has made me realise how much longer it takes me to do my makeup than it used to and I blame the kids! I put on (in this order) moisturiser, foundation, powder, eye brow colour/powder, blusher and mascara for everyday (just wear mascara if I'm not going out) and I add eye-shadow and am more heavy on the foundation if going to an occasion. I've got extremely red lips so don't wear anything on them. It used to take me about 15 minutes to do my makeup but now takes around half an hour!

About 20 mins day to day and 45 for a night out.
Day to day make up for me is primer, foundation (applied with brush), brows (these take at least 5 minutes as I'm filling a previously over plucked shape), eyeshadow, liner, mascara, concealer, bronzer and powder, blush, lipstick.
On a night out I apply all of the above just taking more time to get it perfect and will also usually contour and use highlighter as well.

@helsinki unfortunately not. I just have massive self esteem issues and BDM. Working in marketing for an international company makes me very concious that people are looking at me. Its literally my mask. However, i know how depressing that sounds, make-up is my hobby and i love doing it, so it's not all bleak.

5-10 mins. Very minimal (just need to look presentable, not glam)

  • Mineral foundation (or in the summer, tinted moisturiser)
  • Blusher
  • Mascara
  • Brows
  • Bit of tinted balm after drinking my morning tea!

30secs.
Eyeliner, eyebrow pencil to darken them a bit, lipstick.

Kel I can understand image feeling/ being important in that field. I am sure that you look very lovely & glamorous.
Wearing make up does make you feel confident (it's not called warpaint for nothing) & make up is one of my hobbies too.

5 mins for work - primer, foundation, concealer, cream blusher, powder, eyebrows, eyeliner, mascara, lip liner, lipstick. Always in that order - don't even need to think. 15-20 mins for a night out - extra time on getting a really flawless base (using same products, just less slapdash) and eyeshadow. I used to take an hour when I was younger doing pretty much the same thing - time has gone down as I've got older and my skin has (finally) started to get better!

5 minutes: primer, concealer, mineral foundation, highlighter, blusher, 2 shades of eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, glossy lipstick. Sounds like loads but genuinely takes 5 minutes and isn't at all heavy looking or overdone.

PatMullins · 11/03/2017 19:40

Kelsoooo I wear all that too.

I've managed to get it down to about 20 mins depending on if my skin is behaving!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 12/03/2017 02:25

A couple of mins for basics (what I'd wear to look a bit healthier/presentable on an average day with kids) - bit of concealer, mineral powder foundation, blush, mascara, lip balm.

To look more polished for work add a couple of mins for brows + eyes (liner or powder) and maybe some lipstick.

Very very rarely do anything more elaborate - then it can take ages I'll usually cock it up through inexperience!
