Hi

Had a baby 9 months ago and you can tell. I'm like a jelly baby! I can't face bikinis due to bad stretch marks and I hate my legs (the top of my thighs) Because I'll be running round after my crawling DS I'm worried I need something that I won't feel embarrassed in.

Would you wear this swim dress to swim in? At a big all inclusive hotel.

I desperately want to look okay!

Thanks so much everyone and for the links.

One more q. These board shorts look fine for the beach but do people wear them round a pool in a hotel? I've never seen them before! X

No way would I wear board shorts...Op...If I was you I'd go for a decent black swimming costume with good boob support and wear that black swimming skirt over it that you posted up before.

Jenniferb21 · 26/02/2017 10:49

formerbabe what a brilliant idea I hadn't even thought of that! Thank you. Because it's a 2 week holiday I think I'll need a few options so I'll still look at some of those links x

Just get a kaftan to wear over a normal swimming costume - I always wear one unless in the water or flat out in a sunbed

Jenniferb21 · 26/02/2017 11:18

Hiya. I've bought some kaftans. It sounds ridiculous but even taking it off to get in and out the pool would worry me I just know I'll be so self conscious. So I'd prefer to have my belly and top of my thighs covered up if I can x

No but I like my shorts swimsuits , like this one it's flattering and holds everything in. I live in these when I'm by the pool and just have a simple cotton dress to put on over it.

DianaT1969 · 26/02/2017 12:07

Good idea to bring a few options. Shorts/swimskirt/sarong/kaftan/swimsuit or tankini with boob support. If you're like me, a firm favourite will emerge. I hope you enjoy the holiday Smile

WhisperedLoudest · 26/02/2017 12:20

I saw someone wearing something very similar recently. It looked ok when dry and when the woman was standing up but every time she bent over to get something out her bag, pick up her baby etc it looked like she was falling out of it.

Once wet the bottom dragged and clung in the least flattering manner possible.

Personally I'd wear a normal swimming costume / bikini and then get a sun dress/kaftan to throw on for walking around

BusterGonad · 26/02/2017 15:22

I wouldn't wear board shirts, I'd go for the sainsburys swimsuit or something similar.

Just found this on Amazon! Looks promising Smile

Just remember your body has recently done an amazing thing and you should be proud of how strong and capable it is.

Most women around the pool have the same stretch marks and wobbly bits as you have, for a variety of different reasons.

The picture you have in your head of the perfect bodies around the pool is not a reality!

Have a great holiday, wear a bloody big smile.

Jenniferb21 · 26/02/2017 23:01

coffee diamonds what an uplifting post thank you.

Today I bought some gorgeous off the shoulder dresses from asos I feel v confident and comfortable in and some gorgeous white Marc jacobs sunglasses. Starting to feel like I'm looking forward to a break and some sunshine and to forget stressing about my body I bet I'm the only one who actually cares anyway! X

The thought of exposing your body is always worse than actually doing it!!!!
You'll be fine. Enjoy your holiday

DaphneDeLaFontaine · 27/02/2017 07:21

When you're at the pool having a lovely time, you'll look around and realise that no one is giving your costume a second thought.

Any of them will be fine, but I definitely wouldn't wear board shorts.

PovertyJetset · 27/02/2017 07:35

The only swimsuit I like is the sort of 1940s shaped one from Amazon.
I agree with the other posters who have said no to a combo of board shorts and vests. Just no. Yuk.

Get a good supportive swimsuit in a couple of colours and wang on a sarong to go to the bar etc.

I am always impressed with the variety of shapes and sizes on "the continent" people don't care. We are much too worried here!
