Hi, i would like to update my wardrobe a bit but can't afford a big overhaul. So I'm looking for trendy sneakers which could go with jeans/black trousers/denim skirts and dresses. Also maybe trendy scarves/necklaces/handbags. The total budget is about 100 quid, so prices need to be reasonable :-)

I'll be watching this. I'm in the same boat!

As for trainers 100% would go for converse (high or low/leather or canvas). Could also maybe do vans but converse (I think) are more versatile. As for accessories Primark do great chunk knit scarfs etc. I would save for a good quality handbag- doesn't have to be over the top expensive but a nice one from next or river island would do the trick.

I'm obsessing about these at the moment- I'm short and a bit, ahem, rotund, so I couldn't wear with a skirt, but do think they're lovely!

I've got these & love them

You can get cheap as chips scarves on eBay-I love the 'MN' scarf-oversized leopard print styles.

Sunglasses - you'll need them soon. Again I like eBay bargains but prefer designer sunglasses as they put a nice filter on life & tend not to be as dark

I find Converse so uncomfortable. I wear, the much maligned on MN, Sketchers Go Walk, and any other shoes in comparison just don't offer the support and comfort that they do. Converse have flat soles and my feet ache after half a day.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've been wearing Converse for years but want to get away from my usual spring look (converse + stiripy t-shirt + skinnies + trenchcoat + bright-couloured scarf). I got a bit tired of this uniform :-)

I'm thinking about trying out some Nike airforce 1s for spring. &otherstories or offspring have some nice ones. I'm also bored of the converse/ Stan smith trap I seem to have got myself into. I saw a lady wearing a cool pair of Air Force 1 at the wetlands centre last week so I'm stealing her look Grin. The right shoes can totally change an outfit in my world.

These are my faves

I am very into trainers. My favourite for everyday is the big standard black converse, white and black checked slip on vans and it was adidas superstars until I lost one of them (I don't have a clue how)
When I'm feeling more brave I wear these or similar to that.
I bought a beautiful blanket scarf from Zara for £15 it's super soft.
My issue is tops, I really struggle finding 'nice' tops.

runningandjumping · 20/02/2017 07:51

Mrsknackered, try Uniqlo for tops :-)

I love my Nike Air Max and have vans in a Rainbow of colours. I dislike converse as they're uncomfortable and a bit 'blah'.

Sudocreamface · 20/02/2017 08:03

For trainers try Alex arigato stylish with simplicity so goes with everything.

Shamoffour · 20/02/2017 08:06

I second converse being a bit blah. I wear Stan smith, NB's, and gazelles. I'm fancying the star ash trainers on hush and maybe a pair of golden goose.
