Do you want a full length evening dress or a shorter cocktail style dress? Any colours you prefer?

Braceybracegirl · 18/02/2017 19:57

Probably black or something dark ish. Not sure re length, don't normally do full length as I'm short! Might need shoe and bag recommendations too thanks.

Put on some spanx for tummy and bum then try some dresses on. I find independent shops rather than department stores are far more helpful.

notMarlene · 18/02/2017 20:03

What sort of budget? Are you after sleeves?

I'd not recommend spanx for any event when you'd expect to be mainly sitting or having a meal. They give a lovely finish but it's not worth having the enjoyment of your evening ruined, absolutely not. They are great for some events though, certainly worth having.

Braceybracegirl · 18/02/2017 20:04

Budget up to 100 pounds. probably need sleeves as my arms are flabby.

x post. 100 with shoes / bag / jewelry or for just the dress?

Braceybracegirl · 18/02/2017 20:13

100 just for dress as a maximum

do you have a nice waist, so would you consider a fuller skirt, are you full or small breasted?

measles64 · 18/02/2017 20:24

you have told us your bad points in your opinion what are your good points.

Braceybracegirl · 18/02/2017 20:24

You may have said this before but what size are you?

Casmama · 18/02/2017 20:47

This?

WilburIsSomePig · 18/02/2017 20:55

Do you want a straight skirt or flared or are you happy to have a look at either?

measles64 · 18/02/2017 21:01

well in the absence of size I have gone for black with and without sleeves up to £100 price wise.

The phase eight dress is gorgeous bit probably far too clingy. Like the John Lewis dresses particularly m.johnlewis.com/precis-petite-lenne-stripe-lace-detail-dress-black/p/3129412

I'm happy to look at straight or flared skirts.

A friend of mine wore this to an event a couple of weeks ago with navy heels and bag. She looked fantastic.

Braceybracegirl · 18/02/2017 22:34

Oh that's pretty but my arms are probably too fat!!
