scar under nose

I fell 8 weeks ago and hit my face on the pavement. I have a scar under my nose which is still quite red. I have been applying bio oil at night.
I'm hoping that it will eventually fade, i know it will never go completely, but it has been getting me down abit.
I've been applying coverup makeup during the day.
I just wondered if anyone else has had a scar and how long it took to fade?

It seems to depend a lot from person to person, unfortunately. My skin is very slow to heal - even after a pimple I have pigmentation for weeks afterwards :(

I've bought loads of things in the past and have never found anything OTC that helps, to be honest. Oil seems a good way to go (rosehip is meant to be good but didn't help my scars)

If after a few weeks it hasn't faded much and really bothers you I would consider seeing a dermatologist who might be able to prescribe something that will get rid?

I am covered in scars (toddler DS says my super power is turning into a zebra ) and even after a lot of years they haven't faded, they were deep ones though, most had to be stitched. When I first had them I did everything to try and get rid of them but nothing made any difference. Now I love them though as they show me I didn't let some sadistic monsters rob me of being happy with my appearance .

Sorry, that's probably not helpful. It it smooth on the surface? Could specialist scar covering makeup help?
