Skinny black stretch trousers- do they exist?

Anyone recommend any skinny black trousers? I love my Joni jeans style but need an equivalent to wear for work as we've been banned from wearing jeans!

Sometimes M&S have things like this labelled as Treggings.

F1nbarSaunders · 16/02/2017 07:17

Uniqlo have a couple of different types

Rhubarbara · 16/02/2017 07:21

How about these?

Dulcimena · 16/02/2017 08:15

Gap usually have some, think they're called "skinny bi-stretch" or something? Otherwise, Cos have usually them.

Fuzzypeggy · 16/02/2017 08:33

Gap bi skinny stretch are really good

witwootoodleoo · 16/02/2017 13:54

Another vote for Gap. Often get compliments on mine

Closetlibrarian · 16/02/2017 16:21

I bought the Gap ones after seeing them recommended on here and have been really disappointed. I don't think they're particularly flattering and they stretch out/ go baggy after one wear.

Fuzzypeggy · 16/02/2017 16:25

That's strange, my gap ones haven't gone baggy at all

MillieMillie · 16/02/2017 16:42

I've had a look and they look really low rise? I normally like higher waisted as they suit me better and pull in belly flab

DrScholl · 16/02/2017 16:43

gap but get the 5 % ones
not the 2%

missjoanie · 16/02/2017 16:46

What about black velvet Jonis? No jeans at work for me either but I get away with wearing these. If you're after something a bit smarter, Reiss do some smart workwear skinnies- Darla I think they're called.

TotalConfucius · 16/02/2017 16:51

I've been on a mission for these on dd's behalf recently.
Next, New Look, and Very all do them and I liked them all. DD, who is very fussy about pocket position, didn't. The New Look ones with zipped front pockets were very nice.
We have settled for Tesco school wear £8 and I ordered a few sizes. The 15/16 age ones were equivalent of at least a woman's size 14 for reference.
I had to wash them before she wore them (yep, she's fussy like that too) and they washed fine, needed an iron though.

MillieMillie · 16/02/2017 18:54

So are the gap ones low rise??

I'm not sure I could pull off velvet Joni's, if only! The shape is perfect for me.

New look I find a bit cheap looking

Plain black jodphurs? They are thicker and more structured, but a similar fitted all over style. Made to last too!

Are you near a saddlery to go and try some on?

beanfilledfish · 16/02/2017 19:02

Uniqlo legging jeans

Merlin40 · 16/02/2017 19:09

I always buy Next black skinny work trousers. Really flattering, I have a couple of pairs but they wash and wear well

TeacherABC · 16/02/2017 19:15

M & S are by far the best I've tried, jeggings, skinny or super skinny styles, long, medium, short, low rise or high rise. They are so comfortable and wash very well.

onemorelindor · 16/02/2017 19:32

Aha - my specialist subject, MillieMillie.

I basically live in skinny black trousers when I'm at work (though currently on mat leave so mostly living in black leggings instead).

J Crew does an amazing trouser-legging called the Pixie pant which, though v v v v spenny, do last and retain their shape well. I love these as they flatter my 'athletic' thighs.

I am currently wearing this pair from COS which is a little straighter in the leg, but has a nice high elasticated waist:

www.cosstores.com/gb/Women/Trousers/Skinny-fit_trousers/46887-44196975.1#c-24480

I've found them in Reiss in the past, but the quality has been really poor (seams falling apart exposing the bum kind of poor quality).

French Connection used to do a good pair back in the day, but I haven't tried there in years.

And I did have a nice pair of maternity jeggings from M&S so might be worth a look there too...

CoffeeDiamonds · 16/02/2017 19:36

Cos slim fit trousers. £59 and worth EVERY PENNY

CoffeeDiamonds · 16/02/2017 19:37

they are!

Skinny black stretch trousers- do they exist?
FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/02/2017 19:37

I buy Gap ones for DD who likes hi rise, got some black stretch trousers from Monsoon the other day

EatsShitAndLeaves · 16/02/2017 19:41

I've got the M&S treggings---- (navy and black).

Love them - bought them in "short" so they cut off at my ankle.

They are really comfy, wash well and look really smart for work with both flats and heels.

Tbh I think getting the short version is key though - the standard length didn't look half as nice when on and dare I say it a bit frumpy.

Jenniferb21 · 16/02/2017 19:44

H&M love mine

MsStricty · 16/02/2017 19:51

I have these, OP

They're great - high-waist, and fit the legs.
