This was not how it was meant to be ....

Have been having a tough time recently and feel I need to "lighten myself up" for spring. I've started to eat more healthily, toned down my makeup, drink more water etc. It's all a bit superficial but, anything which makes a difference at the moment, is good.

Today, I used up my Boots Advantage Card points on the 50mm Babyliss Big Hair. Have used this evening in my layered, fine but thick should length hair and the bloody thing had me looking like this.... I can't "do" the revolving brush thing without it tangling my hair and then I had to unpick it, as it were. Seriously, am I missing the obvious or, have I wasted £44.95 worth of points?

Help? Suggestions?

Practice. When I first got one I was the same. It gets much much easier

I have this
Are your pressing the right button so it's revolving the right way ? And comb your hair through first with a wide tooth shower comb type thing Sad

clumsyduck · 14/02/2017 21:18

Also drag ( so to speak ) it through as it revolves don't just hold it still

Apart from that I'm out of ideas sorry !!

Pearlmum1 · 14/02/2017 21:20

Section your hair too

I hated the BBH. It just gave me Anthea Turner hair.

Sixisthemagicnumber · 14/02/2017 21:21

You must be revolving the wrong way. I have one and I'm rubbish with hair but find the bbh very easy to use.

Ok. Will try. Thanks for the tips. Especially, the drag through - as it turns. Makes sense 😊

I found drying hair first to pretty much dry helped

I wasn't keen at first but with practice I've got better

On one side I use my fingers to separate sections off but on the other I have to use a brush to 'pick up' the sections Hmm

It makes my hair more shiny and bouncy as opposed to curly/wavy (fine straight hair, not masses of it) which I'm happy with

Ooh, just quickly. On the first or lowest heat setting/speed, the barrel doesn't rotate. Is that how it's meant to work?

Mine doesn't rotate on the lowest setting, I assumed it just like that and no idea what you use that setting for. Like pp I either dry roughly to 80% dry or let it air dry and then use the BBH to finish it off using the second setting. Definitely section it, gives a much better result.

ChishandFips33 · 15/02/2017 21:52

Mine doesn't either - didn't read the instructions but guessing it's normal if yours are going it too
