...with sole suitable for school run.

Couldn't find these last summer so starting earlier this year.

Where to look?

It's February!

Having said that, I did exactly the same thing last year.

Budget?

AnyFucker · 14/02/2017 21:04

PotteryLottery · 14/02/2017 21:06

Saltwater sandals?

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 15/02/2017 04:03

What sort of thing? I got some lovely kurt Geiger sandals in the sale, they are so comfy and easy to walk in but might not be to your taste. These but with tan straps. They look fucking vile in the picture but honestly are really flattering and comfy. If it wasn't four in the morning I'd put them on and take a pic!

I also love birkies and want some bali's this year.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/02/2017 04:07

Art?
I have a pair that are so comfy they are like my actual feet.

shopaholic85 · 15/02/2017 04:36

I love my tan Saltwater sandles.

Mrsknackered · 15/02/2017 04:39

Another vote for saltwater sandals!

meeerkat · 15/02/2017 05:58

Saltwater!

Search ASOS, and refine by 'sandals', 'flat' and 'tan'.

These two are from ASOS Australia. I think this straight-across style is more current-looking than Saltwaters.

I always have a pair of Teva sandals. They last years. I also always have a pair of Birkenstocks but i find the shoe bed is hard on my foot if I walk at any significant pace and I develop hard calluses, so they are confined to strolls! I know saltwaters became the shoe everyone at my work had but I never thought I'd get on with the flat wide things myself.

I've had a pair of merrells for about 10 years hat now finally need replacing

chipsonthebeach · 15/02/2017 07:38

I saw these in Schuh the other day and plan to go back to try them once I've got rid of the children. www.schuh.co.uk/womens/blowfish-granola-tan-sandals/1744236260/?gclid=CMXXreXLkdICFRA8GwodttUNcw

I had a pair of ugg sandals last year. They were really comfy and straps didn't rub. They covered miles over 4 days on paris and still looked great too.

Meandyouandyouandme · 15/02/2017 07:58

I've got the Clarks romantic moon in black, I've worn them for two summers and they still look good. I've been waiting for them to bring out a tan pair, think I'll be making a purchase today Smile

SesameSparkle · 15/02/2017 08:02

Hush puppies usually do nice flat tan sandals, but they're still only selling their winter stuff right now.

SmartyPants0 · 15/02/2017 08:14

I've see some lovely Dr Marten sandals...

Or these... think I'd prefer them in brown or ox blood

Wow - thank you for all the suggestions.

TheOffice ones look perfect except I don't like the thong bit in between the toes as I know that will rub me on the hill to school.

They don't look clumpy, which I like. I want elegant-ish straps but with a hard wearing sole...a contradiction I guess.

I'd be interested to find some too. I had two fantastic pairs from MV two years ago but had to throw them away as they were so worn.

They were perfect - no tiny ankle straps, comfy, pretty, a bit that covered up my heel, everything. They have never done any like it since. :(
