Jacket/overshirt/something to go with this glorious top

I have bought the most amazing top from Mint Velvet because I absolutely love it BUT it is sleeveless and I am 53 and dislike my upper arms intensely. Can you help me find something to wear over/with it that a) covers up my arms b) doesn't ruin the top and c) preferably is long in the body as I'm tall?

Alternatively you can tell me that the top will make me look like the proverbial mutton in which case I will still keep it because it is a thing of beauty :D

Thank you in advance oh wise mumsnetters!

Could you maybe wear a long sleeved top in the right colour underneath? E.g. this one - www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/goods/172267

How about this mole cardigan

Wow! Love that top! I would wear with a black blazer like the Hush one I can't find at the mo but their new collection launches tomorrow and it's one of their standard pieces...

LiefieLiefie · 13/02/2017 19:56

This is gorgeous. I'm waiting for payday for it but it would also look gorgeous with that top.

BreatheDeep · 13/02/2017 20:05

Agree a blazer - I'm thinking a relaxed one like this. m.zara.com/uk/en/woman/blazers/crepe-blazer-c797504p4082617.html

Swimminguphill · 13/02/2017 20:51

Yes! BreatheDeep exactly. I was thinking mannish relaxed longish...

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 13/02/2017 20:58

Oh I saw that in khaki today - wrong colour for me. The pink is gorgeous though. I'd onlh get a mannish blazer if I had a mannish shape to go with it though. Boobs really get in the way of an airy look.

Swimminguphill · 13/02/2017 21:10

Oo Shotgun I have boobs, BIG ones! But I also have broad shoulders. I can't wear mannish things that do up but if they drape from my shoulders they flatter my boobs and I feel.... louche. And it's a big F-U to allowing my boobs to take over what I choose to wear.

Lovely top. Wear and enjoy! I would probably wear it with a neutral layering top underneath (even white or cream) for day or under a tuxedo jacket at night.

Shamoffour · 13/02/2017 21:46

I have that blazer in black from last year and it's probably the most worn thing in my wardrobe so flattering and goes with everything. I've got 32ff boobs and it fits me great.

Cherrypie32 · 13/02/2017 22:34

Size 16 with big boobs, would Zara XL fit me?

Shamoffour · 14/02/2017 08:19

Hmm not sure I'm a 12/14 with boobs and I got a large. It's worth a try.

OrlandoTheMarmaladeCat · 14/02/2017 14:01

Thank you all so much. Have bought the Zara crepe jacket - great recommendations all round though, thank you :)

Wish Zara got involved with vanity sizing..or I could get on with losing that stone!
