I need someone to recommend where I can get decent quality, medium thickness black socks. Like Next used to be a few years ago...I cannot find these elusive socks anywhere. And I am going sock shopping this morning. Thanks!

School uniform section of m&s or John Lewis? They usually do size 4-7. Cheap too as no VAT. I wear school socks most days that my boys have outgrown, some must be 10 years old and still going strong.

I have some nice ones from the Sock Shop.

I would second the kids section in m&s, much better quality than those in the ladies section and cheaper!

Habithat? (Father Ted joke).

Muju do decent ones. 3 for £6.95 and they wash well and do the go all grey.

Seconding the JL school uniform suggestion. Or if you're a size 6+ try men's in e.g. M&S. Usually better quality IMO

John Lewis.

ChippyDucks · 11/02/2017 08:19

I picked up 6 pairs of sock shop ones, but they're still not of the optimum thickness Grin the hunt is still on, I'm off to the schoolwear dept next.
