Help me find a hairstyle please. Fringe? No Fringe? (Pics)

A couple of years ago I grew out the dye (did the drastic pixie cut and grew it out) So now I am blessed with a chin-length mop of salt and pepper curls. I do not want to go back to the dye but need some impartial opinions on what to do with the mop. Please!

So any suggested styles gratefully received. Should I continue to grow it? Should I get a fringe cut in (more like a bit of a wispy/ringletty shorter bit than a full-fringe. Keep it chin-length bob?

I want to be a cool funky grey - not a dowdy grey!

Any ideas please? (Oh and forgive photos - at home today with awful cold - hence I look every one of my 45 years!)

Oh and this is it without any hair product in. So a bit fuller (not weighed down with product) but also a bit frizzier.

Though with an utterly daft expression on my face . Classy!

I would go for a shaggy bob. I wouldn't do a fringe unless you have straight hair as it won't stay where you want it, well that's what one hairdresser told me anyway.

What does shaggy bob actually mean Googled it and the images it came up with were varied - but mostly messy (yep can do that) but with some kind of fringe.

Also - you have such beautiful blue eyes and I think a fringe might take the focus away from that amazing colour.

No fringe! I don't think it would work with the curls. I remember your pixie from that thread and it looked great on you. It must have looked good for me to remember it in fact! (And I generally am not a fan of short hair)

Curly fringes are hard work. I would grow it and maybe use one of those silver shampoos to bring out the colour - had a colleague with shoulder length grey curly hair, she would just shove a comb/clip in it and it looked great. Also think it looks better with no product.

OK, so fringe might not be the right idea then.

I think in my mind I had the idea to grow it long enough to just wear it in a messy up-do - thinking Kate from GBBO....

No fringe imo, looks lovely without, love the curls they really suit you. Also I just wanted to say that you are gorgeous! I'm 25 and if my skin is like yours in 20 years I'd be chuffed!

Interesting view about the product/no product. Having felt so awful the last few days I have been a bit more relaxed lazy and for the first time in about 20 years not put anything on my hair after my shower. First time I was freaked out as it looked really dry and light-coloured and frizzy. Am now beginning to wonder if I should not just embrace it's natural state...

I'd say embrace it. You'll save yourself time and money and it looks good too. With you on curly up do lady from GBBO, think that'd really suit you too. You could always get one of those claw clips and use that to pin it up whilst it's still short to get a similar style?

Yes I'd say definitely embrace the curls. You're lucky to have hair like that with no product. I have to mousse and scrunch mine to get what you have in the photo.

I've got wavy hair and a big forehead (not that you have); I often want a fringe to cover it up but know it would always be fluff without weight to pull it down.

Seeing the photo I started my "Going Grey" journey with has totally convinced me (not that I needed it) that it was the right thing to do.

Don't change a thing, keep it the way it is. Looks lovely. Just keep getting a trim every so ofte so it doesn't go too long - it's honestly an ideal length right now.

I think it looks great just have it cut really blunt and lets the curls go naturally. Length suits you as does the colour, I would just keep on top of a regular cut

No - not for compliments (though they are nice). It is to get open-eyed opinions. You get too close to it all to really see. See it all the time and then you do not realise if you have slipped into Barbara-Cartland-Make-Up territory (why did noone ever tell her)

Bit like the hair product issue Saw a photo of myself from a few months back which made me realise I had been putting way to much on - looked really kind of clumpy and almost greasy. Do definitely been cutting back.

Still not sure about zero product though. Hair is very fine and flyaway. May have to experiment to see if I can find something really light.

Oh and forehead-wise - I bet you haven't really got a big forehead. I bet it is just what you see iyswim. As tbh I see these non-fringe photos and my forehead screams out at me as being mahoosive.

Thanks! Well it is hard to tell, I agree. I can't post a photo as my forehead won't fit on the screen - no, not really but I dropped my phone and broke the camera.
I might make a new thread about it one day, but today the consensus seems to be that everyone thinks your hair looks great the way it is
