PERMANENTLY Softeing an Eye Pencil

Is it possible to permanently soften an eye pencil, wise Mumsnetters?

Not that I know of. I just do a few strokes on the back of my hand and then it's ready!

Maybe just buy a different type like a twisty-up one or a crayon?

I think Barry M ones are super soft and I know Rimmel ones are highly regarded too.
