Bikini area question

I've in my late thirties and I've just come out of a twenty year relationship and I've just started seeing someone new. I'd normally have an extended bikini wax when I can be bothered; I've had a Brazilian before and it's not for me.

I'm quite keen to look presentable (!). I know this is all about societal pressure and ideally I'd never have to ask this question. But I'd rather be somewhere inside the norm than out on my own with my principles.

So what counts as presentable these days? I'm hoping a small, neat triangle is ok but do I need to clip the remaining hair? The remaining hair is still a bit full on 70's and might need it 😳. Will it itch if I clip it? Am I going to have to bite the bullet and go for a Brazilian again?

As you say, this is really in response to societal pressure and a very personal thing, so really you're the only person who can decide whether you should be going full Brazilian again! I wouldn't do it if you paid me, but I have a husband who's thankfully just pleased to see my bits, regardless of depilatory status, and it's not something I think about much (I use Veet if I'm going swimming/on hols). Anecdotally I think once you've started with the Brazilian, the upkeep is a bit of a PITA, but it's horses for courses.

Well, after the obligatory

'It's All Societal Pressure And You Don't Need To Do Anything To Your Bush If You Don't Want To' disclaimer

my humble opinion is a neat triangle with slight trim of the remaining tips if they are very straggly and uneven is fairly average fare and would be fine.

A trim shouldn't make you itch if you shower the cuts bits off straight away :)

Wax the sides into a triangle then keep it trimmed. I've got an electric razor for it. I'll probably shave it right down then I don't have to bother for a month. The waxing stops any shaving rash and is long lasting.

I used to have it all waxed but I no longer want to look like my 3 year old dd. I get that it's nice to have a bit of visual, but I still want to look like an adult female!!

Thank you all, that's really helpful!

I trim the longer stragglers with a pube trimmer I got from Argos, I do it in the buff whilst sat on the loo classy and then hop in the shower and give myself a rinse xx

When I'm expecting a gentleman caller, I shave the back and sides, leaving a small triangle which I trim down with a bikini line trimmer.
