Another foundation question

and I know this question has been asked before, still I can't quite get the answer I need.

So, I'm after cheaper foundation like Estee L double wear. I've been matched as Fresco and I'm happy with the match. I've used Findation which matches me with Nude in Colorstay. However it doesn't match me with any other of the cheaper long lasting foundations that are frequently recommended on here. Does that mean there isn't a match?

So, if you are Fresco in DW what other, cheaper foundations do you use please? Also if you use Nude in Colorstay and you're happy with that please tell me. My skin is normal (I think) and not sensitive.

I don't think the that Colorstay is anything like DW but the l'oreal Infallible 24hr matte is very similar. You can get the body shop lightening drops that last forever to adjust if you can get the right tone but not quite light enough. I use the drops regularly as I tan easy so I have to adjust my foundations alot in the winter months

Hmmm, may have to bite the double wear price tag bullet.

I can't get Colorstay in Nude in oily/ combination very easily. Findation doesn't match Fresco with Infallible so perhaps there isn't a match.

I can't help you with the colour match but I would say that I have spent a fucking fortune on 'cheap' foundations ( still a tenner a time or more, even drugstore isn't that cheap any more!) and I ALWAYS go back to the high end ones. Foundation is one thing worth spending on, IMO.

I think you are right Lady. I can buy dw for under £30 today and cheap foundations that aren't that cheap AND getting the right colour is a bit hit and miss is a false economy.

Just wanted to be absolutely sure it's a good idea.

Hey I put both DW in fresco and colour stay in nude and it matched to L'Oréal infallible 12 natural rose.

The more foundations you enter the better the match will be

OldJoseph · 05/02/2017 17:09

Thanks, perhaps I've been too cautious with the colours I' ve put in.

I wear Fresco and find that No7 Lift and Luminate in Cool Ivory is also a good match for me.

chocbisc · 05/02/2017 17:19

I wear fresco too. I bought L'Oréal true match in rose vanilla 2R/2C yesterday. Fresco is 2C3 i don't know if the colour codes are general or just coincidental! I'm wearing the true match today. the make up stayed on, I went a little bit shiny a couple of times but just patted a bit of translucent powder on.
I'm interested in what other posters are using too!

OldJoseph · 05/02/2017 17:26

Apart from the colour match, I've not needed powder on top with the DW, which is great.

Op may I ask why you don't go into a store and match up? Would it not be easier than guessing?

OldJoseph · 05/02/2017 19:37

I don't get out much.
I'm not very confident in what I'm doing so I'm using the resources available which includes asking here.

Ok, I wasn't being rude op, sorry if it sounded that way! 😳

OldJoseph · 05/02/2017 20:35

Don't worry Buster!

I think I've been buying too pale foundations over the years (me in the shop) and so coverage hasn't been great.

Ideally I want a foundation that doesn't need a setting powder, (taken me a while to work this out) so it needs to be a good matte match. Even better would be a one that's not too pricey. However, if I can't get that I'll spend a bit more, hence my op about a cheap version of DW in Fresco.
