Talk me out of mules

I want some mules (flat) but are they silly? Is it a fad I'll be bored of in 2 months? Or are they a genius work shoe that at least won't rub the backs of my heels?

You have to grip with your toes to stop them falling off your feet it's annoying and not great for feet calves and posture. Plus your feet get wet when it rains...

WilburIsSomePig · 04/02/2017 20:25

No. It's not 1997 so DO NOT buy mules!

Hepzibar · 04/02/2017 20:28

Mules. Reminds me of my mum in the 70's.
Mules, trews, slacks - great words sorry no help whatsoever

FurryLittleTwerp · 04/02/2017 20:34

I think you can either walk in mules, or you can't.

I can & like them Y have them in several heel heights - only with bare feet though, & I wouldn't wear them for work.

FurryLittleTwerp · 04/02/2017 20:34

*I not Y -confused]

FurryLittleTwerp · 04/02/2017 20:35

and a fail - sigh

Penrithtearooms · 04/02/2017 21:42

get them! look at fitflop shuv . love them! (but I have no fashion sense..so I don't care if they look silly!)

user1471545174 · 05/02/2017 07:18

I had some black pointy ones in the 1990s and love the look, but they are a pig to keep on...

BusterGonad · 05/02/2017 07:32

I'm going to say no for mules, very 90's but who am I to judge, do what pleases you!

PhyllisWig · 05/02/2017 07:51

I had some lovely oxblood ones in 1997

empirerecordsrocked · 05/02/2017 08:12

I had a fab pair for school in 1996, I remember them being v difficult to keep on. And getting very sweaty!

Lucked · 05/02/2017 08:35

Well at least call them backless loafers so that you don't sound like you are in the 90s!

I can't drive in them so not for me but some look really nice.

dudsville · 05/02/2017 08:38

My feet do something that seems the heel off to the side. Hate the things. Irrelevant to your question. Sorry.

puglife15 · 05/02/2017 08:49

Best way to answer this question is:

Would you have worn them a year ago before they came back "in"?

Some things are best left on the pages of a magazine.

Also, they were rank the first time around.

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 21/09/2017 09:00

I'm tempted to get one. I've never had one. Are they really difficult to wear (will they slip off my feet)?

Squashit · 21/09/2017 09:11

It's a no from me as they end up flinging off randomly or you have to keep stopping and banging your foot into the floor to push them back on every couple of minutes.

Most annoying shoes ever unless they have a footbed.

Dowser · 21/09/2017 09:51

Only fluffy, bejewelled slipper type mules, the sort Debbie McGee might wear allowed I'm afraid 😀
