How long would this foundation last you??

Hi everyone,

So my lovely DP bought me my first ever MAC foundation, as he knew I really wanted one (kind of late Christmas present). But when it arrived (it was ordered) it was a lot smaller than the photo suggested! I'm not sure this'll last me a month, going off the basis I'd probably use it 4/5 days a week. How long would this last you? It doesn't seem like a generous amount given the cost of it

I'm not complaining or being ungrateful, I'm really grateful to DP, but given the cost, it seems like it's not a lot at all!

My 30ml foundation lasts about 4 months and I wear it every day. I use what I'd say is a normal amount, I don't use it particularly sparingly.

My 30ml lasts me c.6m on 4dpw wear.

18 months.

I do use TM in the summer though.

My foundation that size lasts me about 3 months. Maybe more.
Do you currently use foundation? How big is the bottle as this seems normal to me? If you honestly get through 30mls a month, how?!

Do you use primer? I found that cut down the amount of foundation I use. And to be honest my Mac foundations always seem to last forever!

I replace my foundations before I finish them, I think I would probably get at least 6 months out of a bottle if I use it 5 days a week. I think you are using to much tbh.

That'd last be about 2 months with daily use

I don't use it anymore, but one 30ml MAC bottle would easily last me 5 months and that's wearing it most days

I use it daily (most weeks) and it normally lasts 4-5 months. I do use a light coverage though and use concealer as well for spots.

I have a 40g BB cream which have been using September (don't use foundation). I think it will last about another month.

I use that one, it lasts about 1.5 months until I run out and need to replace.

That would last me 3-4 months roughly. Average of 6days pw wear.
I get the sense from your post that you're not used to higher end foundation (apologies if I'm wrong) but they last much, much longer, you only need a tiny amount. It might take some ajustment!

Seems like I either use way too much or I top it up quite a few times?? I thought that was normal??

Generally I use Dior, and I have to use quite a bit to get full coverage but then I don't top it up (the one where I top it up a few times is Revlon) so maybe this one will require less to get full coverage?

Most foundations are sold in 30ml bottles but some manage to look much bigger than others. That's a regular amount of foundation.

Get a good primer and that will reduce the amount you need to use as a good one can blur your skin so you need less coverage. Maybe get a good setting spray too and you won't need to top up. I do this so I can justify spending more on a better bottle of foundation!

Years. I only use a few drops blended in with moisturiser for special evenings out. I chuck out bottles which are 90% full annually.

I use Lancome Teint Miracle 6 or 7 days a week and lasts me 9 months.

I've just thrown my foundation out as it is completely empty (not even dregs in there) which I bought in mid-July. I'd say I used mine three to four days a week.

That'd probably last me a year - I wear/apply it very light and on holidays/weekends often skip it.

I wear foundation every day and sometimes reapply and a 30ml bottle lasts me well over 6 months.

I'm currently using Clinique but this would also be the same with Max Factor or L'Oréal, the cheaper brands I use.

1 fluid ounce is standard for foundation, lots of liquid foundations come in huge bottles but'll have the same amount of foundation in. Pay attention to the measurements not how big the bottle is.

I just checked all of the Dior foundations that are available all of them are 30ml so yeah the dior foundation you have'll jut be a bigger looking bottle but holds the same amount as your Mac one
