Too old for FatFace?

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 03/02/2017 10:27

I stopped breastfeeding my 20 month old son a fortnight ago and I finally feel like my body is my own for the first time in 3 years!

I saw this in the window of my local Fat Face and love it, but - honest opinions please - is this sort of thing only suitable for teens and 20-somethings? My 33rd birthday is next month (how the hell did that even happen?!) and it'll be my first clothing purchase since I got pregnant 3 years ago, so I feel thoroughly out of my depth and don't want to look like a total and utter tit.....

ironically it does look like a dress you could breastfeed in!! It's nice, go try it on at least.

Fishcakey · 03/02/2017 16:21

I'm 44 and it's my favourite shop!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 03/02/2017 16:27

I have worn FF for years and I'm 33. My mum wears it and she's 53. My sister wears it and she's 20. It's comfy!

Floisme · 03/02/2017 17:08

I neither young in body nor at heart but I think the issue with that dress has little to do with age and everything to do with body shape. If you have hips then I imagine those pockets would be pitiless. But if you like that style, there are lots of similar ones around that might be more flattering.

hecallsmebunny · 03/02/2017 19:11

I like it and I'm a few years older than you...though I also like it with a mind that my boob would be accessible as I'm still breastfeeding Wink

Diamonddealeroncemore · 03/02/2017 19:18

I shop in Fat Face and I'm 56. I bet that's put everyone else off shopping there now!

FishlessCake · 03/02/2017 19:23

I'm 32 and shop in fat face as does my 62yr old mother. I especially love the sale Smile

lokisglowstickofdestiny1 · 03/02/2017 19:29

48 years old here, most of my clothes are Fat Face, you are certainly not too old. I think it's aimed at 30 plus, my DD at 16 won't even go through the door.

RandomWordsandaNumber5 · 03/02/2017 19:33

Glad you decided to go for it.

MoreThanUs · 03/02/2017 19:34

Hang on a minute, Op, you're saying breatmilk causes grease stains? I have been wondering where those marks on my feeding dresses have come from!
This info has made my day! Did you ever find a way or getting them out?

everythingis · 03/02/2017 19:34

You're probably too young for fat face it's really mumsy

MoreThanUs · 03/02/2017 19:35

Gorgeous dress by the way!

tooclosetocall · 03/02/2017 19:38

I couldn't wear it as my boobs and hips would make it look like a sack of spuds but it looks lovely on.
I like blue hues. Can't go much wrong with blue.

hugoagogo · 03/02/2017 19:56

My mil loves fat face, just saying...

NotJanine · 03/02/2017 19:59

My mum is late 70s and has fat face stuff.

tovelitime · 03/02/2017 21:03

I won't even go through the door but my mum is 64 and well dressed and it is just up her street

Daydream007 · 03/02/2017 21:10

I'm 41 and I'd wear it

d270r0 · 03/02/2017 21:20

Pretty sure my sister has that dress, from fatface, she is late 20s.

Heatherbell1978 · 03/02/2017 21:39

39 year old here and Fat Face is one of my staple clothes shops. It's not geared towards anyone younger than early 30s in my opinion. At 33 I was still mainly shopping in Zara and Topshop!

squiz81 · 03/02/2017 21:57

Have you seriously not bought clothes in 3 years?! Wow! You need a spree now!

Fat face definitely ageless. It's not all to my taste, but I've got some really nice bits in there. (I'm 36 this year)

sadlovedgirl · 03/02/2017 22:00

I'm 42 and most of my clothes are from Fat Face

EnglishGirlApproximately · 03/02/2017 22:02

sadlove snap! I always consider myself their target market tbh.

hpsaucy · 03/02/2017 22:07

I'm 40 and fat face is one of my favourites. DH loves it too he's 62.

paddingtonbear1 · 03/02/2017 22:11

I shop there and I am 48.
The sizing has gone a bit wierd this season though - especially in the tops, or maybe it's just the style. I recently bought a lovely tunic but had to go 2 sizes down just so it didn't look too big and shapeless! Tried on another top which was the same!

megletthesecond · 03/02/2017 22:55

Fatface is more for middle age. I'm 42 and don't wear it.
