  • flattering for (and taking advantage of) a large bust - ideally v-neck with a bit of cleavage.
  • suitable for a proper supportive bra to go underneath and be concealed (no spaghetti straps, halternecks and not strapless).
  • ideally strong jewel coloured (emerald green, red, cobalt blue, type colours but open to black or cream if dress is great).
  • budget: anywhere up to £300 but cheaper is better.
  • elegant, classic in style and not trashy (no Gypsy wedding chiffon flounces!)

How about this one in cobalt? It would certainly show off your assets.

Kenworthington · 03/02/2017 09:22

Omg I LOVE that cobalt deadly is the female one. Best so far imo

Ghost have good dresses you can wear with bras, look at their dyed to order range (they are around £225). Otherwise Net a Porter/The OUTNET often has Marchesa dresses reduced to around the right price.

Anything at www.scarlettandjo.com/ ?

AutumnalLeafs · 03/02/2017 13:39

NewPants Wow! That's a lovely lovely dress and great colour. But it has bare shoulders so doesn't meet the concealing the bra requirements sadly. So close. It's nearly perfect otherwise!

I quite liked the velvet maxi dress at scarlett and jo in green but the smallest size they have is a size 24 - which is a new problem for me!!!

This was the one I liked

I like this too but it's out of stock

Justfred · 03/02/2017 14:27

I have this and it's really flattering in big boobs, and fine with a plunge bra as well.

I just wondered if you could wear the straps up rather than down.
I know they also have very good 'scaffolding' under the dress so may be secure enough for a strapless bra.

They're really nice, so you could always phone them for a chat. I know they'd be happy to help.

AutumnalLeafs · 03/02/2017 14:42

Thanks NewPants. They have some other dresses on that site I like - thanks for linking to them - I've not seen them before and v. much suit my body type!

I like that Justfred but was really hoping for not black. again. and wanted something more brightly coloured.

This is gorgeous but you may have the same bra strap issue.

NewPantsforaNewYear · 03/02/2017 15:28

Ralph Lauren

Another cobalt dress

NewPantsforaNewYear · 03/02/2017 15:30

Or berry

AutumnalLeafs · 03/02/2017 17:12

NewPants I want to employ you as my style advisor!!!

Loving your work. Loving it.

The colours are all gorgeous. The Ralph Lauren maybe the winner. Although the Gabby Blue is absolutely perfect if the bra straps planets align.

Phase 8, v neck in berry, red or cobalt

NewPantsforaNewYear · 03/02/2017 21:53

I'm all yours for red wine and chocolate Grin.

Let me know what you go for.

hahahaIdontgetit · 04/02/2017 08:50

A bit late but I have this dress, super flattering.
