I'm coming out of 5 years of frumpsville and realise that there is something that I'm not grasping, and it's 'what length should trousers/jeans be?' I only wear loafers, trainers and occasionally flat ankle boots, and I wear mainly straight leg trousers or skinnies. The last time I cared about how I liked, trousers were meant to almost cover your shoe, but now they seem much shorter. I'm not high fashion by any means, but I DO want to at least nod to stylishness. I also have quite big feet (size 8), so they can look a bit boat-like. And I live in Cumbria, so swanning about without socks feels a scary proposition for 50 weeks of the year. Please advise!

I'm not great on trousers (dumpy pear, better in dresses) but I've seen loads of ankle length trousers around. You could wear them with chelsea boots or other ankle boots to keep you cosy.
