What 'new' products have you tried which are really worth getting?

Just seen a post on Mrs Gloss about the Kat Von D lock it foundation, saying it's very good.

I bought my Chanel Les Beiges foundation after seeing it recommended by CH last year and it's now a firm favourite of mine. However I've seen posts about the Charlotte Tilbury stuff saying that it's nice but overpriced - so 'new' doesn't always mean 'great'!

Just wondering what other new to the market products other S&Bers have tried which they think are worth it?

The Ordinary Buffet. I've tried quite a lot from the range now but this is really very good for my skin and at a reasonable pricepoint. Have already repurchased.

I am quite sceptical of new product launches in makeup tbh, everything I like usually gets dc-ed. Not convinced by Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks or the M&S dupes but I know others rate them highly, so ymmv.

I'm not sure why cushion foundations are having a moment. Does anyone remember the Stila Sport ones in the white compacts from about 20 years ago??

I tried a cushion foundation from Korea (I like a lot of AB products) a couple of years ago. It was nice but not amazing, so I haven't bothered with them now that they have hit the UK.

I've just got the powder exfoliator from indeed labs and it's rocking my world. Highly recommend. I think it's an enzyme-type thing. You mix a bit with water, rub it in for a minute and it washes off easily leaving brand new skin!

The cynic in me suspects because cosmetic companies can charge you more for a foundation that is half the amount of a normal bottle and probably wastes a bit more with the delivery method.

I've been enjoying the new Rouge Dior Lipsticks. I have it in 414 St. Germain and it's a great everyday pink, sort of matte but not really. Good staying power and not drying in the least. Am currently eyeing the 999 Matte and 080 Red Smile.

That sounds very interesting. I tend to automatically dismiss scrubs and the like as I acid tone; after years of grinding my skin with St Ives and similar I've managed to undo the damage I caused - ironically whilst trying to solve the very problem the scrubs were creating! Will read up on this product.

Agreed! My Chanel foundation is over a year old now (after my OP I worked out that I'd actually purchased it in 2015) and still going strong. I use only a few drops at a time because a little goes a long way. The cushion foundation I had was lovely (I think it was a Missha one but can;t remember), but my God it was a struggle trying to get everything out of it.

Another The Ordinary Buffet fan here. I've been using it a week, along with the Matrixyl, and my skin looks and feels so much better! It was so dry before even after using Clarins Hydraquench serum. I've just ordered the Retinoid and Hyalauronic Acid from there too so hoping my new regime will pay off.

Not tried any new makeup launches recently but watching for recommendations with interes.

dulc I've not tried the microfoliant but the effect is very similar to the dermatologica gentle cream exfoliant. mrdac it's not very scrubby really, more like a foaming powder. £19 which is a bit of a pisser cos I'm using it every morning.

Must get round to ordering some of The Ordinary products. I read up about them when they were launched and I really like the Deciem hyaluronic acid serum and the eye serum (tingling aside!).

I've just started using the Indeed Vit C serum (although it's not a new to market product). Skin feels a bit brighter which is nice.

I am sorely tempted to try the KVD lock it. Beautypedia only gives it 2/5 because it's quick drying, heavily pigmented and therefore very unforgiving if you make a mistake and don't work quickly. But apparently if you crack the application it won't budge once it's dry (Makeup Alley says similar). I do have a gap for a full cover foundation for nights out and my skin tends to the oilier side of things so makeup does tend to slide unless I set it well.

The ordinary, hylauronic acid, retinoid and rosehip oil. So far I prefer the la Roche posay retinol but will order the other 2 again.
OPI drying drops have been a revelation! No waiting around for nails to dry anymore means I'm much more inclined to paint them regularly! And the feel unique samples service is like pick and mix for beauty junkies.....

On the subject of make up I have an Hourglass ambient light powder which I am loving.

I also rate the new 'full to flutter' Clinique mascara. Best mascara I've tried.

Was that the 'what's happened' thread? Why?

Oh and is the FTF mascara out now? I went and asked after it when Sali Hughes wrote it up in the Graun late last year but the counter girls said it wasn't in the UK yet.

Haven't tried OPI but the Sally Hansen instadry has been a real time saver!

Because it seemed really innocuous and then got pulled for being a bun fight so I wondered what I missed!

Yes the mascara has been available since towards the end of last year (I am on my second) but I think it's through Clinique direct for the moment.

Mrd & Namechange - Ftf mascara I'm on my 2nd tube. IMO it's the bees. I suffer with oily lids. No panda eye , flaking & the 3 different dials, are for once not gimmicky.

I've heard quite mixed reviews on KVD lock it too. However I can recommend MUFE HD foundation & primer. I have an oily tzone, finding a foundation that works with my skin has been a pricey experience. Anyway, it's medium coverage, feels great on without feeling like a mask, unlike Double Wear.

I rate CT lipsticks, lip liner & eye liner. I don't necessarily think high end equals beauty nirvana. Or new is better but I love make up & trying new things.

It did become a bunfight, neither side covering themselves in glory tbh

Madmomma they do look similar, but the Dermalogica is twice the price of the Indeed [shock so maybe not a good substitute. The container lasts forever though as you only use a little bit.

Help! I cant make sense of the The Ordinary website. Am i missing something? I think I'd need an A level in Chemsitry to understand some of it...can someone point me in the right direction so I can work out what I should be using please? I fancy a complete new regime as my current products are going o run out soon...

I'm loving the REN 1 minute facial. Awesome. Also really loving the embryolisse products. You can only get those online at boots though.

Dulc- I currently have two. Colour Chamelleon ( black diamonds). Chucky pencil. Great for a smokey eye or all over lid.

Rock n' kohl iconic liquid eye pencil in Barbarella brown. Versatile & long wearing.

Both have the colour pay off and glide ability. Easy to use and no faff.

I also love OCC eye pencil in Sybil.

I might chance my arm and see if I can try and get a sample of the Lock It, this weekend.

Not a 'new' product - but new to me. Really loving the Pixi glow peel pads, which are 20% glycolic acid. Am using them twice a week and alternating around other acids and seem to have a combination routine that is really working at the moment. It's taken two years to get to this stage though, as my skin is quite sensitive so I have had to go slow with building up the acid toning.

The only thing left that I really want to try and 'fix' is that I have some broken capillaries; a couple on my cheek and then some on my chest right at the bottom of my neck. They have been there donkeys, but now the rest of my skin is looking better they are more noticeable. I'd love to get them zapped - has anyone had this treatment?

if only The ordinary is confusing if you don't understand the active ingredients. I don't think the regimen guide linked above is that helpful because it still doesn't help you understand the rationale behind the ingredients.

Have you looked at any of Dr Sam Buntings YouTube videos? She's a dermatologist and although she doesn't mention TO products per se she does refer to the actives like vitamin C, retinol, niacinamide etc. If you can spend a bit of time researching the ingredients you can work out what your skin needs and buy accordingly.

I'm enjoying the vitamin c and buffet from the range.
