WideWebWitch · 26/02/2007 14:04

Right, this is week two of boot camp proper so let's all start again:

Granola
lunch was
blueberries
half an apple
half an avocado
2 small rosemary crackers thinly spread with cream cheese
a few walnuts and pine nuts
about 4 beetroot
a sliver of cheddar
some cherry tomatoes

had 2 glasses of wine with desp housewives last night but didn't even finish the second

Haven't walked but am off work today (skiiving) and wondering about walking to collect ds although it's at least 30 mins each way and may take longer as I'll have dd with me.
Not enough water but am still drinking it. No idea what we're going to eat tonight, salmon steaks maybe, in fact I'm going to get them out of the freezer now.

And I'm not wearing any make up as am at home and have used body lotion all over this morning. Will def have an early night.

having slightly better day now, boiled egg and ryvita followed by soya yoghurt for lunch. SPF15 on the visage even though I am hiding in the darkest room in the house [Batters I used that touch of sun goddess Olay stuff for over a month and never saw a difference, will be interested to hear whether you do)

haven't had any water yet, not any exercise
will do the former, no current plans to include the latter in today's activities

must remember to get early to bed

jeangenie · 26/02/2007 16:02

just managed to resist temptation for nice cup of builders tea and a couple of biccies in favour of a cup of herbal and two raisin ryvita, only but ONLY because I thought of this thread

btw, does herbal tea count as a contribution to the water target? (pleeeeeeeeease say it does)

WideWebWitch · 26/02/2007 17:36

Herbal tea does, yes.

OMG Batters, that is 10yy heresy! Really? I read in one of the Sundays that 2 litres wasn't needed. I reckon it prob stops us all eating as much though so still worth doing do we think?

Oati, I looked like this

until I scrolled down

I drink loads of water and always have done but don't have fabulous skin. It does stop me eating when my "hunger" becomes confused with "thirst" though.

WideWebWitch · 26/02/2007 22:01

Where is everyone else, hmm?

Salmon tonight with carrots and green beans and no wine

Am already in bed with laptop.

No walking though.

OK, still up but detox starts tomorrow. I'm determined to get rid of the black circles under my eyes. I bought a george Foreman grill thing for about £12 from Tesco today - determoned to make healthy food more fun! I had grilled veg for dinner with a (fat free) yoghurt and pesto dressing I made. Detox is planned for 5 days - no meat (easy), v little dairy, loads of fruit and veg, no wine, no coffee (aargh!).

Have decided to take ds to Athens for a w/e 16th to 18th March so this my new mini target.

arfishy · 26/02/2007 23:57

I'm here! I was really busy last week - did an 84 hour week at the office. I'm back now.

I had a shocking weekend. 2 barbeques, 2 children's parties (one of them with champagne at 11am!).

I'm back on the straight and narrow and attempting to undo some of the damage with some extreme health measures this week.

I'll be off for a swim later. I still haven't applied my fake tan. I'm being good with the sunscreen and healthy food. I'm also remembering to use handcream and drink water.

Better go and have some milk thistle.

winnie · 27/02/2007 10:45

oh it's all gone horribly wrong
Dd disappeared at the weekend and I had to involve the police and the stress has been enormous! (She has been found now!)

am glad this is only week 2 as I still have 4.5 weeks to devote to this

How I desperately need to learn to deal with stress in a different way (i.e with out stuffing face full of cr*p and drinking alcohol)...

jeangenie · 27/02/2007 10:50

OMG Winnie, so glad to hear she is safe and sound. Not surprised you resorted to the booze and junk with that to contend with - don't beat yourself up about it one bit.

I'm doing ok. Healthy dinner last night - wholewheat pasta (rules in our house) with chicken veg and pesto. No booze. Bed at 11 (after ER)

got off bus 3 stops early this am and walked (in the rain, extra points for that surely) - walked pilates style too (pelvic floor and central girdle engaged, shoulders down and back, tummy sucked in) so it felt great

bought some green tea with lemon so will give that a go shortly (after a cafetiere of coffee to get going of course )

puddle · 27/02/2007 13:23

Ah, here you all are!

Good day yesterday
Porridge with blueberries
Satsumas
Veg and lentil soup
Wholewheat pasta with tomato, anhovy and chilli sauce
Skimmed milk latte
Lots of water and green tea

Bed at 11 (I keep amiming for 10.30 but have too much to do to manage it).

Blimney winnie how scary about your dd - is she a teenager?

Have done lots of walking this morning too (getting soaked in the process).

Oh sorry to hear it winnie. I'm glad she's ok. What about yoga? Might that help? In the absence of that though, I think if a glass or 3 of wine helps go for it. Unless you'd rather I didn't give you permission in which case, keep on this path!

84 hours week is outrageous Arfy, are you paid by the hour perchance? If not I hope it's a bloody good day rate/salary (aren't you in IT?).

Swedishmum, ooh, Athens sounds lovely. Well done on the healthy food front.

Batters, sorry about the rash, hope it goes soon and you get your fab skin back.

Jeangenie, well done, that sounds good and respect for walking in the rain. I actively like walking in the rain, I really do!

Good food puddle, and walking.

Not bad
Granola
a huge salad of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, capers, olives, avocado, beetroot, yellow pepper and salad dressing for lunch
2 apples
a handful of cashews
3 organic sausages and parsnips and carrots for supper
and just had 2 sips of red wine but actually don't fancy any more so will leave it I think. Or maybe I'll finish the small glass over Battlestar Galactica. Hmmm.
Walked half an hour, with sunscreen at lunchtime
ate a crumb of flapjack
Came in and got straight in the bath so used body lotion, body scrub, painted my toenails, took my make up off and feel good
Plenty of water today
and will very very likely get an early night.

My skirt is even looser today. Still a LONG way to go but I'm feeling good.

swedishmum · 27/02/2007 20:37

Winnie, how horrible. Glad she's safe.

Ikea day today - dd3 had meatballs, but I had the veggie salad (no dressing) with smoked salmon. Didn't even eat most of the kidney beans.

Apparently my neighbour told a friend I'd lost weight .

I'm fine with the food, water, sunblock, handcream etc but keep forgetting about the drink . We have someone staying at the moment so wine is open. Still, at least it's making some difference. And my asthma is so much better - I think eating much less wheat has something to do with it.

Hi everyone! Yesterday was NOT good, combination of childrens' party (not my kids, but was at the party, with chocolate cake, yum), and chinese in the evening...

However, today is a new day!

jeangenie · 28/02/2007 08:49

brown rice with veg and spices last night (yum) no booze, lots of herbal tea and about .75l water. also had a couple of dates and some roasted chestnuts (was starving on my way home)

unfortunately also had one of those sesame seed and glucose bars which nearly broke my teeth and I am sure was not great for me

did manage to get through yesterday without resorting to the massive tin of biscuits our office manager had brought in, that must be a first for me

lotioned and potioned today but no walking yet (tooooo miserable this morning). Did do a 20 minute stint on way home last night too though so not feeling too grim about it

have a good day people

yoyo · 28/02/2007 09:37

Very good day yesterday. Healthy food, lots of fruit and veg, loads of water and no wine.
I am now skipping for 1 min (yes, that is rubbish but I am not fit!) before each meal and aim to increase it every few days. The meal acts as the reminder to do the skipping not that I want to work off calories before eating (don't want you to think I have an eating disorder).
Have noticed that my hair is very brittle and hands very dry despite loads of conditioner and hand cream. A combination of the wind and central heating perhaps?

Winnie - are things okay after the weekend?

Good luck today everyone - we all seem to be on our best behaviour this week!
