Where do you buy quality, stylish boys' clothes?

My eldest boy is 6 and likes to look a certain way! He likes preppy, classic clothes and refuses jogging bottoms and character clothing (thank god). We shop at Joules quite a bit but we've already got a plethora of half-zip striped sweaters. M&S is a complete fail this season. Where do you dress your boys? I'm bored of trawling the net - please offer some ideas! Price point - £20-50 per item.

I like Esprit.co.uk

The only downside is the delivery time, and it comes up fairly small so size up!

Don't discount H&M - some great cable knit jumpers, cord trousers etc to be found

Petit Bateau

TK Maxx

Boden

Aaargh! Why have crew stopped doing boys clothes?! I notice Little White Company are only doing babies and toddlers now, they are only doing PJs for the older boys Sad

I'll look at H&M. Thanks

If you like the preppy stuff on La Redoute, you might like Cyrillus:

I also get frustrated at the lack of choice in clothing for boys and detest slogans and superheroes. DS is only 3 and therefore doesn't have an opinion yet so I dress him in mostly Mini Rodini, Bobo Choses etc but I think the preppy looks is lovely on older boys.

Have you looked at:

  • White Company
  • Petit Bateau
  • Cos
  • Jessie and James
  • No Added Sugar

Some of the quirkier brands offer more classic pieces in their ranges too, I'm thinking about Gray Label, Mingo Kids or a site like Mama Owl that has beautifully made classic knits.

I love Gap and House of Fraser does good boys' clothes. The Tommy Hilfiger stuff is lovely. Also timberland. They often have discounts too.

I managed to get him to age 7 without tracksuit bottoms and swore he'd never wear football tops except playing football. Now I'm lucky if he wears what I want once a week! I guess I should be glad he's sporty, unlike his mum!

Abercrombie & Fitch do some preppy stuff and it's v good quality.
