Wedding outfit - please help!

My niece is getting married at the end of May; it will be a fairly big church wedding and I want to look nice and appropriately dressed. I am in my 60s, size 12 in most shops but with thick legs, scrawny neck, wrinkly arms etc. I never wear heels or very "feminine" clothes. I've started looking and there's hardly anything I'd be seen dead in. Really I'd prefer to wear trousers as that avoids the legs issue and it's easier to wear sensible shoes. Wide legged trousers make me look like the back of an elephant; pale washed out colours make me look, well, washed out.
I have a nice white shirt with lime green dots, and a collarless grey linen jacket, that could possibly come into play. But I don't mind buying everything new, as long as I could imagine wearing items in everyday life on occasions.
Grateful for all suggestions and tips!

I think that something like this would look chic with trousers. You could wear a silk scarf at your neck with it m.johnlewis.com/lauren-ralph-lauren-stretch-cotton-sweater-blazer-polo-black-herbal-milk/p/3143876

Although I'd suggest a navy version for May.

Thanks Florence, it's smart! I'll look for it in a shop and try it on - somewhat over my budget but I could try to find something similar if I like it.

Great. I'll keep an eye out too.
