What do you think of these necklaces?

I posted a few weeks ago about my fast approaching 30th birthday and my parents saying they would buy me a nice piece of jewellery.

I wanted something simple and elegant that I can keep forever and wear with anything.

Some ladies on here gave me come great suggestions. I decided that I wanted diamonds, either earrings, bracelet or necklace.

What do you think of these 2 necklaces? The round one is 1/3 carat and the square 1/4 carat. I think I liked the round one better in real life, it seemed brighter and I like the chain better. Is the square a more classical cut though?

These look like a bargain compared to what I've been looking at, I thought I'd have to get a 9k gold one when I really wanted 18k gold.

Ideally I would have loved a necklace and bracelet set but I've no chance with my budget. I asked the jeweller if I could come back and get a similar bracelet if I wanted to in a few years and he said no, you usually buy in sets if you want them to match (which he doesn't have by the way).

Or am I being silly blowing my whole budget on one thing?

Oh no, they look really dated.

Keep looking, when you see what you like you won't be dithering as you'll just LOVE it!

I'd have that, or get him to make you something just for you. His jewellery is gorgeous and the pictures don't do it justice at all.

This place is also fantastic, and works with any budget on commissions.

I'm really sorry Op but I think they are really dated too! I just feel like they are something you'd find in your granny's jewelry box!

No need to apologise!

Some lovely things on these links, thanks everyone.

What's your budget? Monica Vinader has some lovely things in gold: Monica Vinader

I think for that budget I'd bet a lovely watch. I like thick men's watches.

Beaverbrooks do some nice diamond pieces. If you like rose gold this might be nice?

Sefeld I had Monica Vinader recommended on my other post, her pieces are lovely, I'm having another look as that is more my style to be honest.

It's all vermeil though which puts me off a bit...does this last as long as the real thing?

Laist thanks for that suggestion, I hadn't looked at Beaverbrooks, I'm looking for yellow gold, even though I love rose gold I think it's so fashionable right now that it's going to look dated in a few years.

How. About some diamond studs? (If you have pierced ears, that is)
They are very classic and never go out of style, imo.
You might be able to get 1/4 to1/3 tcwt for that price but must admit i haven't checked recently.

You could get rose gold now and have the diamond reset at a later date. I like the tiffany style floating bezel necklace, looks young and timeless.
