What would be a flattering lip colour for me?

I've got a sallow complexion, brownish in the summer with blue eyes. I'm also nearly 50.
I've always favoured browny pinks like Clinique Blushing Nude but I'm wondering if the look is a bit outdated now?
I'm definitely not a red lip wearer but keep seeing paler almost tan pinks about.
Are these colours better suited to an English Rose peachy skin colouring?

Browny pinks are back back back! 90s revival innit. I think everyone needs to find a "my lips but better" shade - that could be anything from concealer-pale to rosy pink to dark brown depending on your skin tone and lip colour. Maybe experiment with a different lipstick texture - there are some nice sheer matte liquid lipsticks about. Nars and Bourjois do good ones.

I have different colouring to you (dark hair and eyes) but I found one of my favourite lipsticks (MAC See Sheer, like a coral colour) by just going into a MAC shop and asking them to recommend me something new.

Thanks Pistachio, I didn't realise I was back in fashionBlush
I keep reading about Mac Teddy so I might go and try it.

Reporting back.
I bought a beige lipstick. Not a success, I look like a corpse.
Suppose it might be ok with a tan but right now looks like foundation on my lips.

mac teddy is a bit brown iirc, i really like mac twig and wear that daily (pinky brown)

Thanks, I'll take a look at Chanel Boy and Mac Twig. Think I need a bit of pink, wet sand is not my colour.

Velvet Teddy looks like concealer on me. It's awful. Love Viva Glam 2 for a nude. Brave is a lovely pink neutral for everyday. Definitely go to a counter, Mac or elsewhere and try some out.

Charlotte Tilbury kissing valentine is a lovely nude pink

MAC Mehr or Cosmo?
Urban Decay ex-girlfriend is nice too.

HoneyDragon · 30/01/2017 18:13

I can echo the Charlotte Tilbury a friend with your complexion wears it and it always looks lovely, somewhat cheaper the L'Oréal Riche are really lovely lipsticks and Julianne is a gorgeous 'my lips but better' pink

See Sheer is lovely but I find it a bit slippery. If I want that colour (which is gorgeous) I use a Clinique Chubby Stick in Mega Melon, I just find it easier to use really.

For pinks I like mac in Grand Dame or Lancome Rose Nu.

Maybe try mac Creme in Your Coffee if you want less pink.
