My Estée Lauder Double Wear is finally finished and I need a new one. Generally I'm happy with it but I sometimes think it can look a bit 'there' if you know what I mean. I'm late thirties with the odd hormonal breakout and combination skin so need some decent coverage to hide spots and lack of sleep! Plus I'd like it to last once on without redoing it throughout the day.

I tried YSL touché eclat foundation about 2 years ago and found it a bit too sheer (although great for summer).

Happy to spend a bit and would generally use premium brands. Anyone have one that they love?

How about the Estée Lauder double wear light? Not as full coverage but I find it evens out colour and gives good coverage without looking harsh. I've got really oily skin so wear a Rimmel primer underneath and use Bobbi brown colour corrector, concealer and yellow based powder.

Should have said - I've got that too for when I'm having a good skin day! Want something with a tiny bit more coverage than the light version.

I am extremely delighted with Urban Decay naked skin! Has been my favourite for 3 years now....

Also: MAKE UP FOREVER HD is another great one Smile

I'm loving L'Oreal infallible 24 at the moment. I actually rate it higher than DW.

I also use urban decay setting spray, it lasts all day. And after many years of hunting THE foundation, I think I've found it.

Thanks xx

I really like Clinique super balance (balanced) ? Forgotten the name. I wear it on 12.5 hour shifts and it stays out. Not to drying, but doesn't need to be set with a powder :)

Clarins Extra Comfort Foundation is brill. Don't be put off by the fact that it comes in a jar (why?), I've got combination skin prone to breakouts and Clarins foundations generally are some of the best I've tried and haven't broken me out. This one looks really good, gives excellent long-lasting coverage (I put it on at 6:30am and wear it all day at work) and skin tone true colours. I've simply decanted mine in small quantities into a Muji squeezy tube.
Also at the other end of the spectrum MAC Studio Waterweight foundation is really good for a lighter more sheer coverage - much thinner consistency.

Thanks for those suggestions too - will take a look. Foundation in a jar?! Wow!

Nars all day luminous foundation-- you use very little but its full coverage so still feels light on the face;

Charlotte tilbury magic foundation

Laura mercier always good..

Love Nars. Trip to space NK tomorrow is in order. Love all these suggestions. Thank you.

Have just picked up a sample of Lancôme Le teint idole which has never been on my radar. Looked good at the counter. Will report back after trying it myself.

Think Double Wear hasn't helped my hormonal breakouts despite double cleansing so interested to see what effect a break from it has...

I love Clarins Extra Comfort too! If you want something less creamy, more liquidy and more matte - YSL Fusion Ink is also great.
