Fossil Emerson bag

I've just ordered this for £87 in the sale. I liked it instore but it was above what I'd normally spend on a bag but after some searching around I can't find anything as nice. I do intend to pop down to TK Maxx later though.

I've got one and I love it!

Was a bit worried that the strap was too short for crossbody but although it's shorter than I'm used too it's great.

Thank you! I popped into TK Maxx and they didn't have anything. I saw a cheaper bag in River Island but let's see how I feel when the Emerson arrives!

Bags should not be chosen on cheapness. I love Fossil bags; they last ages and age really well.

Such a coincidence because I started a thread on here a few days ago saying I was so disappointed with how my Fossil bag was wearing. It's the same one as this. I absolutely love it. It's deceptively spacious too. The thing is one of the seams on the strap is coming apart and the fossil sign on the label has nearly worn off. It's not aging in that really nice way that leather ages. It just looks scruffy :( I got it when it first came out. I think it was just over a year ago.

Oh no, did you try taking it back?

dont know if this is more worn than you'd think is ok for a year's wear?

Living, that's what my thread was asking - whether I should take it back (as I've had it over a year). Only got one reply but that was saying after a year they probably wouldn't do anything. Which is true. (And I can't find the receipt), but it is a bit disappointing. I love the bag itself though and for half price, I'd go for it I think but just maybe treat it gently! (which I thought I was doing!).

Crimson looks gorgeous - is that a last season colour?

I will go through online statements and try find the payment. But even then it's over a year. No harm trying . Enjoy your bag. It is fab.

I've got this bag too and love it. I've had mine since Christmas 2015 and have used it a lot (though not every day), and there are very few signs of wear. There are a couple of scratches on the Fossil plate but the writing definitely hasn't worn off, and the only other issue is a scuff in one corner where I bashed a door into it.

Loonvan really glad yours is wearing ok. It does make me wonder if there's something a bit amiss with this one. I've had a Fossil bag before and it just went on and on for years and the only reason I replaced it was because it was pretty heavy.

I've had two fossil bags. One fell apart after six months, the other is going strong after two years

I also got one at Christmas 2015 and despite using it every day(didn't mean to but it is perfect for everything), it doesn't have a mark on it or any signs of wear. Sounds like you got a lemon, so do contact Fossil.

I'm waiting for delivery now. Haven't told dh that I ordered it!

I had a fossil bag a few years ago and although I am very hard on my bags it was unusually crap. After a year of use at weekends only it had loads of stitching going and the colour had faded terribly. I bought it from a reputable department store in the sale so it definitely wasn't a fake, or even the legitimate but cut price versions they sometimes make for TK MAXX.

I have a few and all are wearing well so far

Actually your experience sounds like mine. Mine was also the real deal - bought from a fossil shop. Seems to be a 'thing' that most wear well but these odd few seem really inferior. I am really light on bags and shoes and they usually last years.

I got a reply to my email to Fossil today. It was kind of what I was expecting I suppose but had just hoped they'd replace/repair it.

We unfortunatetly do not have a repair service available for leather goods so we look to replace leather items within there years warranty with a like for like replacement.

Unfortunately as your item is now out of the 1 year guarrantee that we provide there is nothing that we would be able to do.

Thats I was too. Couldn't even use my name! It puts me off buying another bag from them. Though my last one was fine I have to admit. But it was a very 'meh, we don't give a shit' reply I think.

Plus the email was full of typos!
