I use one. I don't use it to the extent of achieving straight hair though. I use it to calm and shine my hair but leaving the ability for it to still have some curl.

I bought one last weekend as it had £10 off in boots and I had been thinking about getting one. I have fine shoulder length hair, which I usually straighten as it is slightly wavy in a messy way, but I sometimes find that straightening it leaves it a bit flat.
The SS brush straightens the hair, but you can't get it right to the root so for me it gives me a bit more body. It's quite heavy and it took me a few goes to get used to it, but it works really well. My dd with very curly hair use so it to smooth out her hair, it doesn't get it totally straight.

I think it's brilliant, I like to use it to just smooth out my hair without making it flat, but still use straighteners if I want it to look really sleek and shiny. It heats up quickly, is easy to use and does what it is supposed to do I like it, but if you had very curly hair, I don't know if it would give a totally straight look. HTH
