What is the one item in your wardrobe that you couldn't live without?

Mine is the black vest top. I have all variations, strappy, wide straps, shorter, longline. I pretty much always wear a layered look, and they are the tight first layer which helps to smooth everything over. I will then have an oversized top/jumper over the top, plus scarf etc on my top half. If I run out of my vest tops before the dark wash goes on I feel anxious and don't know what to wear.

What is your absolute must have?

At the moment it's my maternity leggings as they are the only things that still fit and don't make me itch.

Normally it would be skinny jeans.

EmmaWoodlouse · 20/01/2017 19:56

Black scoop-necked cotton tops, several slightly different styles, either elbow-length or bracelet-length sleeves.

toffeeboffin · 20/01/2017 20:46

Emma, where do you get your scoop neck cotton tops?

I search high and low for these but never find them!

beanfilledfish · 20/01/2017 22:10

\link{http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-double-front-scoop-t-shirt/p3114761?colour=Black\these are great scoop necks toffee} out of stock atm but they usually have tons in store

Jorrick · 20/01/2017 23:41

My waterproof trousers Grin

OlennasWimple · 20/01/2017 23:44

A properly fitting bra!

I have recently bought some new ones, as I've changed sizes, and all my clothes look better on me now

JamieLannistersFuckButler · 21/01/2017 04:04

Thermal longjohns! I have 6 pairs. I sit still at a desk a lot and get cold.

Black riding-style boots.

AuntMatilda · 21/01/2017 05:35

I'm the same with black long sleeved tops. I have them in different materials, shinier stiffer material for more formal or casual jersey for bumming about. I get them on ebay usually.

Faux leather biker style jacket

mysteryfairy · 21/01/2017 06:47

Long bum covering layering tops. I have a collection from Hush, baukjen and h and m. Long sleeved for the most part but have some vest ones too.

Top shop tall jeans also feature heavily, Jamie's in the winter and looser in the summer.

These plus more varied knitwear and boots are in danger of being a uniform.

SimplyNigella · 21/01/2017 07:11

Vests here too, mostly black but I also love grey and white.

mowglik · 21/01/2017 09:58

Longline vests and any one of my leather biker jackets

In the summer (and when I'm not pregnant) boyfriend jeans

Also love uniqlo thermal long sleeved tops need to own them in every colour!

Dowser · 21/01/2017 13:38

I wear a dress every day. Woollen ones in winter, lighter fabrics in spring and summer.
I couldn't choose one item really.

BusterGonad · 22/01/2017 07:52

Dresses....I just love dresses and boots. But the one thing I couldn't live without is a dressing gown. My current one is a bit crap but to not have one would be hell on earth!

AllTheBabies · 22/01/2017 07:59

Quite sadly mine is my M&S thermal leggings. They are so soft and comfy and thick enough to not go see through. I have three pairs.

I don't remember that last time I actually wore anything else on my legs Blush to be fair I am pregnant with dc3 with a very small age gap from dd2 so comfort is priority at the moment.

MrsLogicFromViz · 23/01/2017 23:06

Uniqlo ultra stretch skinnies.

showmeislands · 24/01/2017 03:22

Currently, it's black maternity leggings from Gap. I have three pairs and they're literally all I want to wear. So comfy.

When not pregnant, cotton/jersey dresses (mainly from Topshop) in a mini, skater style. Or black Tommy Hilfiger straight cut jeans.

febel · 26/01/2017 08:34

Definately black vest tops, in various lengths. I wear them pretty much all the time too ..layer them up under other clothes...v slimming I think too. I

In cold weather, essentials are gloves and a scarf of some sort, in varying materials! Get v cold hands and would panic massively without gloves as would lose circulation.

Sunny weather...sunglasses. Hate the sun in my eyes and have spare pairs in the car. You can never have too many pairs of sunglasses or gloves!

Mrspotatohead18 · 26/01/2017 08:45

Leather jacket

chloechloe · 26/01/2017 09:06

Black vests too, but am BFing at the mo and the only suitable ones I can find that can be pulled down are from H&M. Any other suggestions?

When not on mat leave I live in dresses.

MrDacre please share where these long line fine knit jumpers are from!
