Does anyone have this? Short of getting what my mother calls a 'shaggy perm' im hoping this does the job. Does anyone have one? Is it easy to use? Thanks

I've just read some reviews on the tony and guy wave maker thing and it looks promising, even on short hair. Most people are saying it lasts for a few days and similar to that ruffled beach look.

Is this something that will work on large sections of hair or do you still have to section it all off like you do with straightebers?

I think it depends on length, but on the Amazon reviews for the babyliss one people are saying they just do the outer layer of hair and not from the root.

I have a slight natural wave and am desperate for wavier hair, however having just Googled by the Babyliss and the Toni and Guy, they just remind me of 1980s crimpers which is a bit scary.

Simply thanks for the link to that thread I definitely don't want crimped hair! The last person I remember looking good with crimped hair was my 10yr old sister before a dance competition...I was 5 at the time so my memory is a little warped and it was 1990!

I used to love crimped hair when I was 5! It does get such good reviews elsewhere though and I really want it to be good as I'd love wavy hair.

Simply I'm tempted to get it from Argos and return if it is indeed a shit crimper. But the reviews elsewhere do sound promising. Plus there is a woman I sometimes chat to who uses it on her short bob and it looks really natural.

I'd love this to deliver wavy hair but the YouTube vids all show badly crimped hair. Still OP, if you do a trial, let us know the outcome!

I have the babylis perfect curl which is amazing. I do curls, but it will do waves if you put it on a low setting.

It has changed my life. When I can be arsed to do it.

I found it awful - used it a handful of times, watched the video etc. and my hair looked dreadful after I had used it.

Made my hair nice and wavy but REALLY dried it out so only use very occasionally, I have fine hair though so may be less damaging to thicker hair.

I used one of these last weekend on a model for a fashion show. It was my first time using one. It gives a deeper wave than a crimper but for natural looking waves I'd probably use a GHD straightener actually. We used it as a crimping device so we could tease up the hair to massive heights.
