OK so I just thought I'd come on here and share so easy money saving wisdom with you all in a hope some of you might share yours too Wink

OK so for those who want to try olaplex hair treatments, you can buy something called Colorphlex on amazon and ite exactly the same. A trial size (one use) costs less than £7 and you can do it at home. You get stage 1&2. It's amazing stuff. Stir into hair dye, bleach or even a deep conditioner and you won't recognise your hair after I promise.

I wrote to (emailed) Elemis a while ago enthusing about a product i tried and loved. In response they sent me a gift box full of goodies. So if you love a product tell the company's. Not only is it great feedback but some even give you gifts in return.

For Benefit dupes buy from the brand W7. Good products and similar ranges (especially the cheek and lip tints!)

Hello, this thread is a little old and the links are out of date. Take a look at this handy page for a round-up of Mumsnetters' favourite beauty dupes.

Can the Colourphlex be used on it's own as a conditioner after shampooing?

Innermagic · 24/01/2017 20:06

Sorry to burst your bubble but colourphlex is not the same as olaplex
Olaplex rebuilds disulpher bonds, which is basically the structure of your hair, it is the only product that uses the technology to rebuild hair from the inside and they patented the specific ingredients that does so.
Colourphlex cannot use the same technology and have yet to come up with there own way to rebuild disulpher bonds so it's just a cosmetic conditioner that sits on the surface of the hair

UnoriginalNN · 24/01/2017 21:59

Nyx has a finishing powder that is a good dupe for the laura mercier finishing powder IF you go easy on it. I swear by it and won't be without it now, but my sister went hell for leather and looked ridiculous.

Kateallison16 · 25/01/2017 01:22

No bubble burst at all. The technology is used by about 20 companies with very slight variants.
Results speak for themselves I think :)

Silk u hair after use with no extra products and I hadn't even styled it.

It's up to anyone to decide what you use. To all those that messaged telling me you loved it, I'm so glad :)

As for what deep conditioner I use? I recently discovered Palmers coconut deep cond. It's amazing and 2 pounds a large sachet in superdrug! Mixing plex step one in is a great idea!

Can I ask where to buy the Colorplex, the sellers on Amazon have very few reviews. There is someone selling Olaplex with lots of reviews but many reports suggesting it's fake. Where do you recommend buying the Colorplex?

moonchild77 · 25/01/2017 08:32

Delanci eyeshadow palettes on Amazon are dupes for morphe palettes.
Can't commment on them as I have morphe palettes but apparently they're very good.

nickdrakeslovechild · 25/01/2017 09:30

Yes, can someone please link to the colourplex on Amazon?

Kateallison16 · 25/01/2017 09:35

Its spelt a little differently, try: Colorphlex.

Olaplex costs about 150 for a kit.

Colorphlex can be bought on amazon and it's the real deal. A one use set costs 6.70

Innermagic · 25/01/2017 10:08

Olaplex cross links broken disulfide bonds by creating both an ionic and covalent bridge between two single sulfur hydrogen bonds. This chemistry is patented and entirely unique. It's not as simple as throwing random ingredients in a bottle.

Colorphlex:
Water is used as the main solvent. Hydrolyzed vegetable protein PG propyl silanetriol is an artificially modified amino acid from vegetables and film forming compound. Beyond that, you have phenoxyethanol. Colorphlex is made up of preservatives and silicone modified vegetable proteins that are incapable of rebuilding bonds within the shaft of the hair

Alwayscheerful · 25/01/2017 10:14

Thank you I for the correct spelling 🤗 if it's only a brilliant conditioner it's worth a go. How much does the Olaplex treatment cost in salons?

HeavenlyEyes · 25/01/2017 10:14

I just bought some on eBay - will update once have used it. Thanks OP :)

Innermagic · 25/01/2017 10:21

It's one thing to compare to lipsticks, I love a good make up dupe and the Aldi moisturiser has almost the same ingredients as la prairie but saying olaplex is the same as colourphlex is like saying a motorcycle is a dupe for a Range Rover.
Google the ABCH side by side. The results of Olaplex versus Colorphlex is not even in the same Galaxy. As for price....you get what you pay for.

user1475253854 · 25/01/2017 10:54

OP do you sell colorplex on Amazon?

Alwayscheerful · 25/01/2017 11:01

I am not convinced about the Olaplex dupe! Where are all the glowing online reviews?

10Betty10 · 25/01/2017 11:02

I love a makeup dupe thread. Am not sure this is actually one now! OP sounds VERY invested in this Colorphlex product ladies...

Kateallison16 · 25/01/2017 12:48

Haha you think im selling it? Thats quite funny. I think its a shame people cannot get hyped or VERY invested about a product without people assuming its someone trying to coerce them into buying from them, but thats the world we live in. No good deed goes unpunished.

No, I dont sell Colorphlex.
I dont sell w7 products either and I dont work for Elemis earlier. Just to be clear.

If you dont want to buy it or try it, dont. Its not like im loosing out, just trying to help some people out.

Yves Rocher makes a good dupe for l'occitane shower oil. The Yves Rocher one is called Almond Orange Blossom shower oil, and you can normally get it half price or buy one get one free online, so it works out at £4.90 per bottle, or cheaper if you can go instore. I personally prefer the smell of the Yves Rocher one.

10Betty10 · 25/01/2017 13:14

Relax OP- if you don't sell it then great, share away! It's just if you read through your posts it sounds very advert like (especially the sciency and before and after bits!)

Hersetta427 · 25/01/2017 13:59

The makeup revolution I heart chocolate pallets are dupes for the too faced chocolate bar pallets. I have only seen them online (from superdrug) and they are £7.99 but were on 3 for 2 so three beautiful pallets cost £16.

Itsnottheendoftheworld · 25/01/2017 21:18

Tried the colorplex stuff tonight. Didn't notice any improvement at all. If anything my hair is drier and more tangled than it was before! Have had to use a ton of hair oil to get it to feel somewhat reasonable. I thought it would at least be softer given my usual conditioner left on for half an hour? Oh well maybe it's just not suited to me.
