OK so I just thought I'd come on here and share so easy money saving wisdom with you all in a hope some of you might share yours too Wink

OK so for those who want to try olaplex hair treatments, you can buy something called Colorphlex on amazon and ite exactly the same. A trial size (one use) costs less than £7 and you can do it at home. You get stage 1&2. It's amazing stuff. Stir into hair dye, bleach or even a deep conditioner and you won't recognise your hair after I promise.

I wrote to (emailed) Elemis a while ago enthusing about a product i tried and loved. In response they sent me a gift box full of goodies. So if you love a product tell the company's. Not only is it great feedback but some even give you gifts in return.

For Benefit dupes buy from the brand W7. Good products and similar ranges (especially the cheek and lip tints!)

Hello, this thread is a little old and the links are out of date. Take a look at this handy page for a round-up of Mumsnetters' favourite beauty dupes.

Ok extremely stupid question here as it sits in the name but - is the colorphlex JUST for coloured hair? I'm assuming it is with the colour in the name and stuff Blush
If it is is there something similar ? Op pic of your hair is what I want to achieve!
I've got long natural hair which tends to get frizzy and tangly and rarely looks silky or shiny apart from 1st day after wash Sad

Broccolirevolution · 21/01/2017 18:05

I am so grateful to hear about colorphlex. Thank you so much. I've added it to my end of the month shopping basket Wink

Kateallison16 · 21/01/2017 18:25

It can be added to colours or used stand alone (I like to mix with a deep conditioner)

:)

My hair is normally very very frizzy and bushy, you wouldn't know so now.
What it does is it actually repairs and fills the hair bonds rather than argon oil that would just coat it for a day or so. It's incredable stuff.

Good luck with it ladies. Would love to see pics once it's done!

Thanks op for the w7 tip. I went and ordered the mascara (looks like the benefit one) and the candy floss face brightening powder. The mascara is amazing a structured wand like benefit (the only mascara I use usually) I actually prefer this to the benefit one. The face brightening powder is lovely, because I'm quite pale in winter (but very dark in summer) it makes my cheeks really pink. You only need a tiny bit too. Can't wait to order some more bits Smile thank you.

Kateallison16 · 21/01/2017 19:21

Really glad you like it fish

Where can you buy W7?

FishlessCake · 21/01/2017 20:13

I got it from Amazon, free delivery (not sold by Amazon).

buckeejit · 21/01/2017 20:18

Ooh, good thread-I've gone quite blank though! The max factor creme powder blushes are a ringer for the hourglass ones.
I love my eve lom tinted moisturiser but the seventeen bb balm is about as good-great stuff.

Lambzig · 21/01/2017 20:38

Thanks Kate, I have ordered some to try.

user1475253854 · 21/01/2017 21:22

Thanks Fish.

Nicketynac · 21/01/2017 23:14

I have ordered the colorphlex. How often do you use it?

Kateallison16 · 21/01/2017 23:27

Now and again. It lasts until the next dye. If you aren't dying just use it once and maintain every few months or use some "stage 3" every week.

I've just bought the trail size colorphlex. Will be using it in conditioner. I thought the Aussie 3 min miracle conditioner would do to mix it in, what do you think?

So shampoo, put colorphlex conditioner mix on, wait half an hour, rinse, put step 2 on, wait 10 minutes, rinse.

Is that right?

ellalouise123 · 23/01/2017 16:07

NYX do really good dupes for a lot of the high end liquid lipsticks. I basically find the shade I want (Kat Von D/ABH/Jeffree Star) and then google an NYX dupe. I can't fault the formula and for a fiver it's great value. Plus I tend to want loads of colours so can't afford £25 a go.

Also the MUA (makeup academy?) Undress Your Skin highlighter is as good as some of the pricier ones I've bought. The best I've got is an Hourglass highlighter which I use for 'best' because it's expensive but this MUA one is fine for other times.

Thank you for the Olaplex dupe recommendation, buying now!

user1475253854 · 23/01/2017 16:43

Ella what's the official name of type of NYX lipsticks that are good dupes? They have so many similar names.

nickdrakeslovechild · 23/01/2017 16:48

Make up revolution do the one blush sticks, Rush is a duplicate of Nars Orgasm Mulitple. I have the classic and the Matte and love them.

FishChipsAndBeans · 23/01/2017 19:34

OP, which deep conditioner do you use?

Itsnottheendoftheworld · 24/01/2017 16:34

Just got my colorphlex! I'm going to use it tonight I will update with results. Hair is waist length tangly wavy and like a birds nest most days. I'm going to shampoo use step one in conditioner leave half hour then rinse and step 2 in more conditioner. I hope it makes a difference.

creamcheeseandlox · 24/01/2017 17:18

Maybelline lash sensational is a apparent dupe for benefit roller lash

EnidButton · 24/01/2017 17:20

Awaiting your report itsnot. What conditioner are you going to use? Just your normal one?

I'm unsure how to mix it in as I usually use loads of conditioner and just keep layering it on until it feels covered. Guess we have to mix it together first.

10Betty10 · 24/01/2017 17:35

Lidl 'Suddenly Madame Glamour' is absolutely identical to Chane 'Coco Mademoiselle'. I've worn it and had people saying how much they love Coco Mademoiselle without me even mentioning it.

The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme is AMAZING. Similar product to Tarte Tarteist Creamy Lip Paint. I actually prefer it- particularly love the Zurich shade for a day lip and Copenhagen.

10Betty10 · 24/01/2017 17:39

Ps. I really struggle with the Sleek rose gold blusher- I'm very fair and Nara Orgasm looks great, however the Sleek looks too sparkly and fades to patchy nothingness within and hour or so. And it really does smash easily I agree! My lovely brand new make up bag paid the price for that budget buy Angry

ShesAStar · 24/01/2017 17:55

I'm coming on to second collection 2000 concealer. They are lovely and creamy and nearly as good as my bare minerals concealer.

Mulberry72 · 24/01/2017 18:53

Oooh thanks for the tip about the Colourphlex Kate!

I've just ordered some to try Smile

I had an Olaplex treatment this time last year and haven't been able to afford it since!
