Help me find a red dress?

I want to find a red day dress... I'm thinking smart, restrained and demure, but with a kind of promise of sexiness at the same time. Not too tight in the skirt. I'm 5'6 and a slim size 8-10 (depending). I tried the Baukjen Elswick but thought it was a bit frumpy on me. Help! All suggestions very welcome.

Winser always have good reviews. Don't look v exciting but are meant to fit really well.

This red wrap is currently on sale at House of Fraser. Looks like the same idea as the Baukjen but perhaps more sexy. (V bright red though)

And a few from John Lewis. I particularly like the Reiss but it may be a bit much as a day dress.
(Would love to know the backstory. In my head, it's to do with office romance Smile)
LK Bennett
Reiss
Yanny
Karen Millen - note split

Close NewPants, close. Let's just say I have promised someone that I will wear a red dress next time we meet... The Yanny one looks promising. More suggestions anyone?

How can I do better links from the iPad app?

dementiawidow · 17/01/2017 16:40

I like the Peter Hahn one, thanks. Maybe a bit expensive? Really appreciate the help!!

Just found another possibility

Or this one, perhaps with a stiffly starched shirt underneath it ;)

Wow, NewPants we are onto something now! You deserve the bonus point, which is that the reason the skirt shouldn't be too tight, is that there is a bit of stocking action promised as well and I don't want the suspenders to show through! Next question will be where to buy the suspenders!! I sound a bit slutty, but honestly I'm not. I'm just enjoying the wonderful feeling of dressing up for someone after spending several years looking after a husband with dementia (hence the username... and by the way, I'm only 48, it's not like I'm 70...don't let the dementia thing give you the wrong idea). So it's all kind of exciting and lovely.

That's very exciting dw, and it sounds as if you deserve some excitement.

I'm not an expert on fancy lingerie, but Figleaves or Brastop would be good places to start. They do free returns so you could order loads and send back the ones you don't want.
